You can always taste fresh beans. There are no seats in the store. Must take out. Americano is a slightly sour type, so there are likes and dislikes. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

Café Limón has two locations, one here in San Pedro, and another by the Tec. At the Tec location they roast the beans and usually have fresh roasted coffee between 10-20 days after roast as optimal. Mine was a medium roast from the Huasteca Potosina in Hidalgo, this was a great coffee! Roast today was a fine acceptable 5 days old today because a lot of cold weather caused a bump in sales apparently! Cup was easily competitive with the better coffee shops in Monterrey, though I reserve the crown to give for #1 till I get everything perfect… Usually the owner is at this location, though he was out during my visit. The selling point of this cafe is clearly the owner’s interest in offering coffee from smaller farms of Mexico, offering them direct, as he roasts, rather that using a distributor. The selections appear good if mine is any indication if the rest. I found the shop in the hands of a young barista who was enthusiastic, and did a great job with the latte art and understood most of the basic concepts, I hope the owner gives him a raise! I had a latte with a double shot here which is a calibrated 19.5 grams. I asked it be cut to 18g and was cheerfully accommodated. Only three flavors, ginger, vanilla, and honey. Cost was in sync with location in San Pedro, at market. The only issue I had was again the milk is an ultrapasteurized whole milk, which is commonly used in many of the best coffee shops in Monterrey. I asked for 6 oz (-180g)of milk but the latte total was about 11 oz, I guess I assumed and didn’t insist, so the drink was weaker. The locality I had was quite a caffeine bite in the minutes after though. They are sold in valves bags. This whole bean coffee is not a great deal, ranging from US $20-30 per pound (sold in 250g bags) but if you want to try a new small farm output, you likely won’t find Nayarit, Hidalgo, or Puebla easily elsewhere. A Mexican Geisha is also available, I’ve seen in several coffee shops so it’s not exclusive at least the genetics, and is quite costly. Temperature, extraction and pressure was great here combined where I actually got a 24-30 second extraction. Most Monterrey places are short in the extraction, so I was a happy camper and the coffee was not bitter. Hope to meet Roberto the owner some time. His personalized vision is all over the place. Great batches if you choose right! Final comment. The current shop is tiny so there isn’t much room for people though it’s cute. I’m also told this second location is new. I’m sure will se a bigger shop as soon as they grow the business in San Pedro which probably already it’s time.
Take out Meal type Breakfast Price per person $200–300 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
