Enjoyed eating here, came during lunch. The food was good. Very Mom and Pop type of restaurant. The onion rings were good. Personally I felt the fries could have been cooked a little longer, I like crispy fries, these were just a little too soft for my liking. The burger was good, not sure what type of patty they used but it was flavored well. They may be frozen patties, not fresh; I'm not too sure. We didn't try any other menu items. They have a "serve yourself" add on bar with melted cheese! That was cool. Overall it was ok. I would try other menu items. Atmosphere was chill We are on search for the best Mom and Pop burger in the Deer Park Pasadena area. Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

I love the atmosphere. It's a mom and pop type place. The buns were excellent and the fries were the perfect mix of crispy and soft. They have a build your own bar with condiments and veggies. The burgers are really good and the atmosphere is cozy. You get your burger plain and then use the toppings bar to fix it up with the basics, like at Fuddruckers. They do have a hot pot of liquid cheese as well, though it is a bit thin. They also used to have jalapeno cheese, but have discontinued it. Luckily, there's jalapenos on the bar so I could spice up the cheese on my own. The crinkle cut fries are crispy and lightly seasoned and the cheese tasted as good on the fries as it does on the burger. The great thing is the fries are served in a paper basket, so just dump your fries on your tray and use it as a bowl. They do have other food, but I only come for the burger and fries. Burgers were good not great. The crinkle cuts fries decent. The onion ring batter wasn’t good I didn’t even finish more then two of them. Nothing to write home about. But not terrible.

Didn’t like it. The chop steak dinner was a hard hamburger patty, the gravy was bad. Sorry. The atmosphere was nice though. Maybe I’ll give it another try soon. Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3

My burger was actually pretty great, I got the one that starts with a B..., my husband's was raw. He mentioned the meat tasted bland and I noticed they are not hand made anymore, they're plain. I can't believe it, no wonder this place isn't what it used to be. The owner needs to go back to the better quality meat and fries, I noticed. The burger and fries on my plate are what 0ther places advertise but never make. Burger-Tex makes the best burger with freshly made bread and self serve fresh veggies for the price.
