Very clean, family friendly local diner on Broadway St. In Bay City's south end. It has the appearance of an old school diner with some modern appointments. With a large menu, and breakfast served all day.
Staff is friendly and attentive.
Kitchen is semi open, and very clean.
Food is not pretentious, excellently prepared with huge portion size. If you walk away hungry, it is your own fault. This is true mid-American comfort food.
Dinner arrived quickly and was steaming hot.
Dinner, sodas, and appetizer was about $23/ person. This would be much lower, but I ordered the conflicted Reuben. (Totally worth it!)
Value is excellent due to the quality and portion size. Enjoyed coming in very much, and am looking forward to coming back for breakfast.

This is obviously a family owned and run business. The teenagers need more work experience as staff, but they seem to have good leadership behind the counter. The food is really good. The gravy has a lot of pepper in it, fair warning. The food I had was breakfast food for dinner and it was made fresh. This place has a lot of potential. Give it a try!

Went to the restaurant with a group of friends from work first time visit. Was a really nice experience my friend's food was wonderful Monte Cristo cheeseburger a salad-steak sandwich and a chicken dinner and Belgian waffle is what we ordered --experienced a problem with one order. After our visit there I did call to talk to the manager and did receive a call back to take care of the issue we experienced on one of the dishes. I do recommend eating there except for the one minor issue we had a great time

Higher quality than the previous owners for sure.
They have a very diverse menu, and some friends of mine love this place. I feel this place never wows me, but been there several times with no critical complaints.

Best (1/2lb) Burgers in town! Old fashioned place with super friendly staff that has a warped, but enjoyable, sense of humor. Everyone I've taken there has enjoyed it. Daily specials listed on back of menu.

Definitely a mom and pop kinda place. The food was delicious, the owner was there helping and fun to talk with, it is under new management so he's still working out the kinks and training staff...so be patient. He is committed to the South End Community. We will definitely go back.

Great neighborhood diner! The 3 egg omelets were huge, and I couldn't finish. Some cool nods to the local area in the food! This was my first time, will be glad to go back!.

Went for the first time today and it's your mom and pop little restaurant with a full menu. The food was good and so were the prices. We need more places like this...some of us don't want all the hype of posh atmosphere...give it a try if you haven't yet

Stopped here for the first time this evening after work. Ordered a sandwich and soup. Got told they were out of soup. Instead I ordered a small appetizer. I received the app but no dipping sauce with it. Two different waitresses asked me if I wanted sauce as I waited. Eventually, I got tired of waiting and ate. 10 minutes went by and they brought the sauce to me after I had already finished the app (asked for the sauce to be hot, and it was cold). The waitress apologized (multiple tables received apologies... For various things). The sandwich was fine... Fresh and hot as were the fries. The interior was very quiet... dead silent... making it feel awkward. Some music in the background would help to fill the void. The menu touts that you can find something regardless of dietary needs. In reality, that's not the case. The menu is huge and over priced as well. $15 for just a sandwich that didn't impress. The employees and managers also could use some proper attire. The manager should not be wearing an oversized T-shirt and sweatpants. Most of the staff were dressed like they were wearing pajamas or gym clothing. The dishwasher was wearing pink gloves to do dishes, and used those same gloves to handle clean silverware. One waitress was cleaning quite a bit, but the dozen or so employees/friends/family that kept coming and going in the kitchen... Most were chit chatting. Lots of socializing. Very lax on management and direction. Overall, it was a disappointment and the crew here could use a good leader with real restaurant experience to help whip them into shape. It has potential, but a very, very long way to go. Likely will not be back for quite some time to see if it improves.

Burgers
At first, I didn't think I could even lift this burger!!! Look at the size !!! I looked at my hands and remembered that I can palm a basketball and hyped myself up. "Nicole...you can do this." I still needed two hands for this monster burger. It was about 14 dollars and it was well spent. I am absolutely going again and telling all Bay City (and beyond) that the new owner Henry has some serious burger skills!!! Just come eat a burger. You won't regret it. ( There's a very large menu so if burgers aren't your thing he has something sure to fill you up good.) The atmosphere is clean, lighting is relaxing, comfortable seating, the air is fresh and the people and staff are friendly and down to earth! Enjoy!!
