Absolutely delicious! I ate here with my husband and adult son. I had the surf and turf (wow!), husband had the seafood platter which was huge and my son had the pork burger. The staff were really friendly and the service was quick. I’d definitely recommend this place! We just came from Auckland CBD and new to Coromandel, also really tired and so we rent a place on the apartment. When we’re looking for a place to eat, the guys said we got 20% discount if we go to Blue Lagoon. So that’s what we did. When we got here, the place is having a function (a Christmas party) So basically it’s really busy, especially the staff. But that didn’t stopped them to deliver a wonderful service to us. English is not our first language but they welcome us and guide us on our food. The food is amazing and the staff are really helpful. We are the last guest and still they serve us dessert and as a customer looking at the staff who’s really busy that night, They still manage to deliver a quality service! Kudos to all of you and kudos to the staff on this date: 28th of November 2023 (7pm till closing: we are the last one) Shout out as well to the staff who told us to give a review. So here is it, your 5 star review! Because you all deserve it! You all deserve a raise! Amazing amazing amazing!! Despite blue lagoon being super busy for the long week, the staff managed to give us a table regardless of how busy they were! My partner and I had the eye fillet and chicken burger along with an entree of calamari, two spirits & two cocktails of long island iced tea & it was super delightful. They ran out of items on the menu such as the garlic bread (it looked amazing on another table) due to being busy but that was very understandable but also provided us a meal on the house explains how well they treat their customers & services. I gotta say, the steak was one of a kind (probably one of the best steaks I have ever had) it was juicy, succulent and cooked beautifully as I wanted it rare. Will be coming back, and of course it is worth the wait if they are busy! Thank you to the waiters/ kitchen staff for working so well under pressure! We have just had dinner at Blue Lagoon Whitianga…… 6 people, we had the fillet steak with Scallops “med rear”which was perfect, the seafood platter superb ! And the bao buns delicious. The prices are great and service really good. I highly recommend Blue Lagoon. One of the best meals out I’ve ever had! The food was amazing and cooked perfectly. The chicken had so much flavour and melted in my mouth. We loved the bao buns as a starter and my partner said the steak was cooked perfectly. Really good service and it was even dog friendly. Plus the prices were affordable. Will be back for sure. Me and hubby went out last night for a romantic evening at this beautiful restaurant with a lovely view. It was a chilly evening so i opted for a hot chocolate, the best hot chocolate i’ve had in a while. And the fish and chips are to die for. Excellent service 100% recommend. We had the best dinner at Blue Lagoon! Had the surf and turf which was cooks to perfection - steak was super tender and melted in your mouth, scallops were big and delicious. Service was the pits! An order for tea took over half hour because the waitress forgot. A request for extra plates was again ‘forgotten’ Getting the attention of a waiter and actually getting some service was very challenging. Overall a terrible experience. Vegetarian food was simply awful and tasteless. Barely touched 3 of the 4 entrees we ordered- fish of the day, Korean chicken and chickpea salad.
