The experience here could’ve been better if the service person was more attentive.
Everything was hurried and more transactional. Not much warmth in the service at all unfortunately.
In fact, after serving each thing, the lady serving us was just rushing back. Never returning to ask “how is everything going?”
There were that many people that she was serving.
The bread that was served was very chewy and not easy to bite off. I wanted to tell our server about it but could not get a word in since she was rushing constantly. Then I noticed that other tables were also struggling with their bread as well.
We got:
Italian beef rolls for appetizers - tasty and good but not great. Deep fried so definitely not healthy at all but worth trying.
Gnocchi - which was just OK and nothing exceptional for the price charged for it.
Eggplant Parmesan - which was very good and differently worth ordering if you go.
The ambiance of the place is very festive and joyful overall. Liked that very much.

For the service we received, that did not seem fair.
When you go to a pricey place like this, service is more important than even the food in my opinion.
And just because of that alone, I would not recommend this place 👎

First time dining here, and everything was great! Our food was ready within fifteen minutes of us ordering, and it hit the spot. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. We'll definitely be back to try other items on the menu!

First time at Big Sammy's and we loved it. We wanted to try a couple different items so we got the pizza and the clams linguine. Both were excellent. Big Sammy himself went around to the tables to introduce himself and we were checked on several times by other team members as well. Wait staff was on the move the entire time we were there, and the service was top notch.

Been here a few times now and the last 2 times dining here was not so great. Both times we were served cold fries, added the parm garlic to the fries for an additional charge to our cold fries. We were also served some old bread that tasted like it was sitting out for a while. The beef rolls we had as an appetizer hardly had beef, all breading. Sorry to see this happen, I was really excited to see a local restaurant here, our first time was GREAT! We even ordered catering following our first time. Also very good. Unfortunately, after today we won’t be returning.

The parking lot and sidewalk weren’t cleared from snow very well. Being dark out, it was hard to navigate and not fall or walk through big piles of snow.
The inside was VERY busy and crowded. The noise level was so loud it was hard to have a conversation at our table.
The waiter was nice, but was rushing around, never asked us if we needed drink refill or when the food came out he never came to see if we needed anything.
Our appetizer was wrong and we never got our soup.
When we were almost done, one of the owners stopped by and said “ let me get you some bread”; we declined because we were basically done eating.
We ordered breaded mushrooms but got the sausage stuffed ones - we did not enjoy them. The chicken Marsala was okay but I usually don’t like my food topped with pepper. Steak sandwich was fatty, nothing special.
It was a one & done night for us.

Food was pretty good. The portions were quite sizable. Sammy even came to our table and introduced himself. Our waiter was very kind and honest. At one point he admitted to my wife and I that the food was taking a tad longer than anticipated. In my experience, this is not common and was a breath of fresh air.
The only issue we had was our original table was under a light that was essentially strobing. It hurt my eyes and they were more than willing to move us to a better booth.

We have been going since they opened. A shake start first time but since then everything has been wonderful. Food is delicious with big portions. Well worth the money. We were just there tonight where we were warmly greeted by the new manager. Our server was friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious. We eat here about once a month and we plan to continue that.

We decided to give Big Sammy's a try, the menu looked good online. Service was slow and not real attentive. I was also confused on what type of vibe they are trying for. Is it a sports bar or an Italian restaurant? Music was very loud but the menu gears towards Italian and sports bar food so I was confused. Clams and pasta was alright, could have used more seasoning but overall good portion. I had to ask for bread 2x, and it was hard and could barely break it apart. My husband ordered a New York Strip, was served a ribeye, they did take it off the bill. Steak sliders and sauce were good. Overall I think some training with staff would help and also try and figure out what type of restaurant and vibe you are going for because it's very misleading.
