A subtle, unassuming bar serving creative top-notch cocktails and some of the best classics I've had in a calm, intimate, and minimalistic setting.
Despite its modest appearance, the bar serves up cocktails that are on par if not better than some of the ones I've had across Asia and Australia's best bars.
The owner is passionate about his craft, and it shows in the seasonal offerings. I think what sets this bar apart is the owner's taste buds - he has an innate ability to bring a perfect balance to his concoctions.
Outside of cocktails, bar nele offers a fairly large list of uncommon whiskies. Being new to the Korea whisky scene, I find myself educated each time I have a banter with the owner (and being pleasantly surprised). The whisky navi whiskies he manages to get a hold of are recommended. The bar also serves up home made canelé, served warm on order, as well as a very uniquely Korean experience for me, Jeju prawn ramen which I recommend after a strong whisky shot 😌
Bar nele is truly a hidden gem, a pleasant find in Siheung if you're after serious cocktails or a delectable selection of whiskies or bourbon. I have been frequenting this place for over a year and don't plan to stop anytime soon!
