This vending stall was operated by an old lady. We went by the booth and took a look at the stuff she was selling. She encouraged us to buy and give it a try for the peanuts and other stuff she was selling and eventually the “cool cake” caught my eye coz I am a man into any stuff made with the taro. The “cool cake” I bought had three different favors (taro, pumpkin and the other one I forgot) and the one I bought is of course the taro favor. From its color, it looks like a regular cake made from taro and covered with some green onions for decoration and seasoning I suppose. I was afraid of its plain favor so I asked for the soy sauce to g with the cool cake. I brought it home and ate it immediately so the cake was in room temperature. To my surprise, the cake has almost no taro favor and all the favors came from the onions and the soy sauce. The texture to me is weird and I figured out that it’s totally not a cup of my tea. I could barely finish half of it and honest to say, it’s not to my taste. If this cool cake was without the seasoning of the green onion & soy sauce, it will be a disaster and I am sure that I could not finish it up. The cake wasn’t expensive. It costs me NT$ 50 and the size of it is around 15cm x 5cm x 5cm. It’s not my thing but probably someone else would love it.
