I think the place need update.. because they only bake flat bread (khobz) and smaller flat-oval shape bread clled (samoon). They also provide some grocery stores and restaurant. Always fresh, of course!
مَّا شَاءَ ٱللَّٰهُ, Maashallah, this is our favorite bakery to get samoon (Iraqi bread - in the shape of a ‘football’ & opens like pita 🥙) and khoubiz (large unleavened flat bread). The baker starts bright and early in the morning, whether it’s freezing cold outside or in the heat of summer. This is a popular place because the bread is so fresh and baked so well (it’s not doughy). Note, there is not any preservatives in the bread so I’d recommend either eating it up in 1 or 2 days OR placing in the fridge or freezer. Place in a warm oven for approx 10 minutes and it will be like it just came from Baba’s. Also, if he is still baking, ask if you can have the bread just as he takes out of the oven (it will be piping hot) and BRING your own brown PAPER BAG to hold the bread (it stays warmer longer than the plastic bags and dissipates the steam so it doesn’t get ‘soggy’). There’s been more than a few times over the years if we don’t get there early enough then we end up leaving empty handed for the day, so I suggest planning on getting there around 9am. My family has been going to Baba’s for years now and inshallah it will be around for many years to come.
A hidden gem in Lincoln. Get pita or flatbread in the morning when it is hot and fresh from the ovens. It'll change your life if you love carbs.
And it's incredibly good value as well, 4 fresh pita for $1.50.
