Stood at “please wait to be seated” for about 15 mins… place wasn’t even full… Employees looked at us many times. There is a possibility that this happened since we were the only people of color in the restaurant. Unfortunately we walked out. We were excited to try the place because of the reviews. Austin's has a great atmosphere with several TVs playing various sports games. They have a bar area, restaurant area, and a covered outdoor seating area with heaters for cooler temps. They have a normal selection of bar and grill food. Burgers are good, and chicken tortilla soup is awesome! My first time there (11/7/23). There's ample parking, it's well lit, and inviting. I was greeted and seated immediately. It was late afternoon on a weekday. So it was very busy. All the staff I interacted with were friendly and attentive. We, my daughter and I, had the fried pickles as an appetizer and it was very tasty. I was a little disappointed with the portion size. I thought there'd be more than 16 pickle slices but that's just me. My daughter had the Mac n' Cheese and tater tots (she's 18 but still eats like she's 6😁). She finished everything and commented on how good the Mac N Cheese was. I had the BLT and it was very good. I do like bacon a little more crispy but that's a personal preference. Being a sports bar I was impressed to see all the TV's on various sports. Too many of today's sports bars don't do this for some reason. I'm gonna go back on a Saturday for college football games and see what it's like. I'd highly recommend Austin's.
