Incredibly cheap and authentic bbq that’s always full of locals and tourists alike enjoying the food. You have three options on the menu - beef, chicken or pork. All meals come with a big bag of plantain chips and the sides are rice, vegetables and spicy dip. The meat is gorgeous. Service is very quick you can expect to wait just a few minutes to a for your food. Chicken with a coca cola cost me just 120 cordobas.

Wow! Incredible authentic experience. Not a typical restaurant, but a home cooked meal on the streets of Moyogalpa. They have plastic chairs for you to sit and they will let you know what they have to eat that evening. We had the mixto platter with pork and chicken, slaw, gallo pollo, plantain chips and a Coke. 220 Córdoba (approx $5.50 USD) for the meal.

Delicious local food for a great price. Our meal was fresh and full of flavour, surrounded by locals which means it must be good. We weren’t disappointed. Wish we had another day to enjoy.

Hi everyone. Normally I never give my opinion. But this place is amazing, as a Canadian this is the most delicious latino( Nicaraguan ) food . If you’re crossing America, visiting Nicaragua you must have to go tho this place, also it’s in the paradise ometepe island , the trip, the experience and food is great.
I am delighted to report that after two dinners at Asados Nubia, I'm confident that this is one of the best value places on Ometepe and certainly the best value place I've visited from a portion sizing perspective. Both times its been a very enjoyable experience and I've left thouroughly satisfied.
A couple of things keeps this out of the 5 star category for me however:
- the grilling - the res I had last night was still delicious, but overcooked and tough as an old boot
- some unusual pricing details - when i asked last night for a menu, saying id seen a menu online, the lady serving me told me that theyd never had a menu and had no such thing. Tonight i showed her the menu listed on this page - she then said that they now had a new menu that wasnt online, but didnt have this to show to me.
That does set off some alarm bells for tourists being overcharged for being tourists, but then again, 'overcharged' would still be absurdly cheap.
I was more confused by their pricing of my meal tonight - somehow, it is 100C for one piece of chicken gallo pinto and so on, but 200C for identical same but with two pieces. I'm not quite sure how that adds up.
But besides that nitpicking, there's a reason I came back and I'd be back again if I was staying longer.

Great local dinner. Plate is 60 to 100 cordoba ($2-$3) for a piece of chicken (breast is C100), gallo pinto, a small salad, and a side of fried banana. Great value, great flavor. Can’t beat it in Moyogulpa for the price.
