We own a condo just a couple of blocks from here and have always said we are going to try this place. We finally did! It did not disappoint. This is by far the best restaurant I have eaten at since I have been coming to Playa. From the moment we walked in were treated to great service by everyone and the atmosphere cannot be matched. I love this place , the food is as amazing. I will return soon. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great meal with excellent service in a great location. It is on a quiet street and you have to have a reservation. Just ring the bell and the door will open to the most beautiful restaurant that we have been to on the west side (my favorite side) of playa. Anafre did not disappoint. Last night was our anniversary! 35 years! We had a cocktail and their beautiful Grilled Salad! So delicious. Our waiter was new. Very friendly and patient with us and joy filled.

Best restaurant in Playa, and maybe all of Mexico! Outstanding service, and the most incredible dishes. Prices are phenomenal for the quality and freshness of this food. The ring of a bell outside, and you are welcomed into an upscale oasis. We were blown away and so content! Emanuel was our waiter both times and treated us like royalty. I was very confused on how to get in, but you just ring the door bell and then it’s so beautiful inside!!! Beautiful ambiance and the service is 5/5! The food though wasn’t that great. We had the seafood mix which was pretty good and the lemon tart for dessert is to die for! The banana desert was okay, wasn’t my fave. The steak is so tender and delicious. Great restaurant away from the tourist área but well worth it to make your way there. The restaurant design is very nice with an open kitchen concept. The food was excellent, the service was great! We were very dissapointed regardless of all the hype and reccommendations. We asked for the best meat on the menu, and it was nothing special. The only good things were the churros and rose wine. Tucked away down a side street, tiny sign, entrance only with a reservation, it’s like they want to be hidden, but this place is excellent. The food was amazing, not a single thing I can think of that was less than great, and the prices are very reasonable. Staff were very good, professional, and watching the kitchen work is a spectacle in itself.

Anafre is an outstanding restaurant- perhaps the best in all of Playa Del Carmen. It was packed with locals and families visiting from Mexico City. Anafre was recommended to us by a Playa Del Carmen local. Our server was attentive, and our dishes were delicious (especially the pulpo). The wide selection of wines and specialty cocktails with Mezcal was also fabulous. As a California-native (SF Bay Area and Los Angeles), my standards for what I regard as good Mexican food are very high, and Anafre did not disappoint. Our family even returned for a 2nd meal because it was so good. The open air kitchen concept provides for a one of a kind dining experience, which is great for entertaining young kids. The unassuming entrance (a large gate on a concrete wall in a residential neighborhood) gives you the impression you’ve stumbled across a hidden gem.
