Buyers beware!! Don't buy any gift card from this Acme location. We bought one Macy's gift card for our friend's daughter birthday. But, they couldn't use it as there was no credit in the card. The cashier who sold the card charged my credit card but didn't load the amount in the gift card. We called Macys and got confirmation that the card was never used but no credit was loaded. It was a very embarrassing situation for us as the birthday girl couldn't use it. I was very upset from the customer service of ACME. I went two times in the store and they totally refused to do anything about the card. They told me when someone leave the store with the card then it's not their responsibility to resolve the gift card problem. They told me to take picture of the gift card and receipt and then send it via email to Albertson who deals with gift card problems bought from ACME. After sending email and several attempts to contact with Albertson, I didn't get my money back or they didn't load any credit in my card. I used to shop every week from ACME. But, this incident shocked me deeply. I won't buy items regularly anymore from this ACME. Beside the zero cooperation, poor customer service there is another problem. I found several times expired yogurt and milk products in this store. As I didn't hear back anything from Albertson or ACME, I contacted to my credit card company. They reimbursed me the gift card money and told me that they will deal with Albertson. I am lucky that I used credit card to buy the gift card. Otherwise, I won't never be able to get the money back from ACME. Total disappointed!!!!
Do not ever buy a gift card here. ACME will not vouch that your funds will actually be available to you.
We purchased two $100 gift cards from the customer service department. Our friend tried to use one in this very same store but the card was denied due to a zero balance on it. The envelope was sealed and the card untouched before she took it to the store.
When we brought this to the attention of customer service they said official policy is once you buy the card it is not ACME's responsibility to ensure your funds are actually there!
The store itself is well stocked and the employees include people who have been there a long time. But beware: Albertson's does not stand behind its products!
Well stocked and clean. Employees are very friendly. Prices reflect inflation with the exception of Utz goods which are expensive AND suffer from shrinkflation.
Huge shout out to Kathy Cerlucca for helping me make Austin Beltrante’s Fundraiser on Friday June 17, 2022 at Freddy’s In Broomall absolutely amazing. I couldn’t find balloons anywhere actually I couldn’t fin helium anywhere but acme and Kathy saved the day. She is a wonderful wonderful person and served me with a smile so accommodating with all my requests. I love ❤️ acme on Sproul road because of her smile.
Thank you Kathy Cerlucca ( I hope that is speckled right )
I’ve finally given up on this place. I shopped there for many years, and it’s been on the decline for quite some time now.
This store is run down and unkept, but now it’s to the point of being dangerous. The amount of potholes in the sales floor is ridiculous… they wait until it’s a massive crater to fix it, major tripping hazard.
On more than one occasion. The bathrooms were flooded out spilling sewage water all across the floor in the pharmacy section.
Looking up at the ceiling, there are countless areas where the ceiling tiles have what appears to be black mold.
The prices are sky high, and the quality and attention to detail is very low. As others have mentioned, it’s hard to know what things cost when items are placed with the the wrong price tag, or no price tag at all.
I shopped there for over 20 years, it used to be a nice store, not anymore. Don’t even bother complaining to management, they won’t do anything… this store has a revolving door of managers. They used to keep managers for a long time. Now, it seems like every time I was in to shop there was a new manager and the store always seemed to get worse with each new one.
These are pics I’ve taken on some of my last few shopping trips to the store. It may be “fixed” now for all I know, but it NEVER should have gotten to that point to being with. If the store is this dirty, how clean do you think your food is? 🤔
Goodbye Acme, you just can’t compete with the EXCELLENT Giant’s in Broomall, Havertown, and Springfield.
Looking forward to the new AmazonFresh!
The guy in the beer check out with the long hair was Awesome! Initially this was a nightmare of an experience! i as i was initially in the wrong line, behind a low life that spread out her groceries so i couldn’t even put my one item down, Thanks! I appreciate that guy!
I was completely shocked when I went to the Broomall Acme in the Lawrence Park Shopping Center today. I stopped by this location for the first time (and last) since it was close to another place I had to go. I picked up a dairy item and it was expired a month ago! I then proceeded to pick up 5 more different expired food items while shopping... some in the frozen section, some in the dairy section and some in the regular food aisles. Obviously, I put them all back and told an employee. Needless to say, I will never attempt to shop here again and I feel bad for anyone who does. They may not have thought to look at the expiration dates since typically you can trust supermarkets to watch out for this!
Giving ACME Markets align Lawrence Park Shopping Center 1991 Sproul Rd. 5 Stars. They earned it. The store is always clean and well stocked with everything. The employees are some of the hardest working you will ever see. Everyone is always on the move to achieve that clean, well stocked store. The staff is friendly and professional. Special kudos to the people behind the deli and seafood counter. They treat us like VIPs every time. Also, ACMEs prices and sales blow the competition away in my opinion. I really won't go food shopping anywhere else. Parking is plentiful too.
