We enjoyed an exquisite dinner at 1796 on Saturday, November 11. Emily was our server and she was absolutely delightful. Friendly, professional and just made a lovely evening even lovelier. We ordered Twin Lobster tails, Waygu Steak with sides of Truffle Fries and Asparagus. Dessert was delightful cheesecake. We also imbibed on two of the best made “extra” dirty, Dirty Martinis EVER. The evening was truly memorable. A word of caution though, if you’re going to worry about the cost to dine here, then I suggest you don’t… this is a very high end restaurant and the cost for dinner will reflect the experience and the quality of the meal. The only thing I wish I knew was how 1796 makes their “House-Made Steak Sauce”, which IS TO DIE FOR… (psst, if anyone has ANY ideas how it’s made, we’d LOVE to hear your thoughts). I had my birthday dinner during our 3 day stay, and the meal was absolutely phenomenal. We got a little unlucky with timing as the kitchen got slammed and we ended up waiting over an hour for our meal, but the server and the manager were surprisingly proactive. Many tables were in the same situation and they came out and talked to each and every one of us and offered to comp things off the bill without having to be asked. That's good service! Our server said she's worked there for many many years and only seen a handful of delays like this, so I doubt many people experience it but it was incredibly refreshing to see them handle it the way they did. As for the food, each dish was absolutely delicious. We started off with their rosemary and sea salted butter, and this is now our benchmark for the best bread we've ever received at a restaurant. The bread was fresh as could be, and with the amazing butter it was just the perfect combination. I got the filet mignon with the truffle butter and their house steak sauce, and both were absolutely incredible additions. The steak itself was awesome, but the truffle flavor had great flavor and was worth the cost to add it. The steak sauce was also mind blowing, and seeing as how I was very unsure what to add for a sauce I really got lucky there. I couldn't order it with anything else going forward, it was that good. My wife got the brie entree with phyllo do which she really enjoyed, and I had a chance to try it and thought it was very flavorful. As sides we got the truffle fries and the lobster mac - the truffle fries came out without truffle, but our server quickly corrected this and maybe they overcompensated, but it was COVERED in truffle sauce. Since truffle fries may be my wife and I's favorite thing in the world, we were in absolute heaven. The mac and cheese itself was out of this world, but the lobster I could have taken or left. I wish they just had a side dish of mac and cheese, because I'd probably order three and have that as my entree. Lastly for dinner we got the donut holes from Frontier Tavern (it's not on the 1796 menu, you have to ask) and at first they came out very burned but again, our server was on top of it and she had them replaced after. The caramel sauce with the donut holes was a perfect combination, and we ended up coming to the bar just to get another order the next night. The chocolate sauce was just OK, tasting a bit like Bosco/Hersheys chocolate syrup rather than a melted chocolate. Overall there were at least a few situations that needed correcting, but they did such a fantastic job at correcting them (mostly without needing to be asked) and the food itself was just so darn good that I have to give them 5 stars. We will definitely be back, and this restaurant will be on the top of our list!

The food was absolutely delicious and well worth the price. Our waiter, Kyle, was friendly and attentive. He answered all of our questions and had great suggestions. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner

Amazing steaks at this steakhouse. It is an expensive menu but the food is outstanding. We shared the 21 layer cake to finish our meal.

This place is amazing. Me and my husband both got the center cut filets and they were perfection. Sides were all amazing. Service was great and our waitress was so friendly. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $100+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Perfect place for our anniversary dinner this year! Setting was amazing, the Bedford Springs Hotel is wonderful, the food was spectacular, and the service was top notch. We were very pleased with our entire experience. If you are in the Bedford area and looking for a higher end date night spot, and amazing food, this is your place. The cocktails were also very good. Would absolutely recommend to anybody considering a unique restaurant in the Bedford area. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $100+
This Meal Was Made Even More Exceptional Because of Our Server Emily! Everything was Perfect, The single best wedge salad I’ve ever had, if they ever change or remove that salad from the menu I’ll cry!, It’s Unbelievable! The Ribeye was Perfectly delicious but the reason for this review was the unbelievable customer Service from Our Server Emily, I’m an award winning chef, With Plenty of Accolades to name, and I can tell you there isn’t a Restaurant in the world where Emily wouldn’t get hired on the spot! She’s The top 1% of Perfection when it comes to customer Service, I Hope You print a copy off for Her Employee File, and a copy for Her and if you hold staff meetings are sure to acknowledge and Applaud Her for Being the best of the best, Honestly if there’s ever a FOH Management Or Server Trainer position available I’d give it to Her in a Heartbeat, because there’s none better that Either of us have experienced in years, I Hope If You’re on the fence You’ll give this restaurant a Chance, But without a doubt ask for Emily in your reservation and tip Her Well because she deserves the Incredible treatment that she gives to the guests, I cannot begin to say enough how she made a special evening all the more special because she was so kind And knowledgeable and offered great suggestions as well as careful attention to our table and there wasn’t a need that went without, Emily is unbelievable and We appreciate the incredibly memorable experience she made from this meal for us, Thank You!
Immediately, you’re hit by the bad acoustics. Noise of the crowd wasn’t too loud, but it did somehow overpower any conversation at your own table. An unfortunate seat location in the path of this HVAC makes things uncomfortably cold. As for the food, the smoked salted butter is fantastic. The rest of the meal was average to below average. The quality does not come close to what the cost would suggest. I would recommend enjoying the butter and then going to the Frontier Tavern for your entree.

Very good. Wonderful atmosphere. Good seating arrangement. Food was delicious. Nice portions, well flavored and seasoned. Usually l take into account menu prices but this is in an upscale resort so bring your wallet. Service was also impeccable. Neat place for a special occasion.
