Where to start with this gem of a diner. From the customer service to the delicious food. I've traveled heavily the past year and made a point to try different diners around the US. This place takes the trophy for best food, atmosphere, and friendliness. Great family owned restaurant! And of course dont forget a slice of pie! I would eat here every day, if I could! Been going and taking visitors for years, now, and I always look forward to going, whatever meal. The menu is large with lots of great options. Everything is good, so it's really hard to decide what to get. The portions are plentiful and they even offer smaller size portions for seniors! The service is amazing, enough to make you wonder if they own stock in the company! And the pies. Oh, my! Its a safe bet that I will never bake my own pie again! And they never run out! Went here on a whim. So glad we did! The food was delicious and super filling. The dessert was soo good, pictures were forgotten. Pics of biscuit and gravy and Raceway (open faced sandwich with potatoes, stuffing, gravy, and cranberry sauce.) The waiter was excellent and was right on our beverages when they were getting low. I've been eating at the village kitchen. And par shop since 2006, when I moved to Carlsbad, the food is always good, but most of all the breakfast is excellent. Any breakfast to choose on the menu? It's done to perfection. They have pies and pastries. The Baker has been there about 27 or 28 years. You can't get any better than that for home.
