Went there on Tuesday night. They weren’t particularly busy. I asked the hostess to direct me toward the spiciest rolls. Ordered 3 of them with extra wasabi just in case they were underwhelming. They were underwhelming and she didn’t give me extra wasabi. In fact, she barely gave me any at all. It’s better than sushi you can get at Smiths, but I wasn’t impressed. The wasabi would have made it unremarkable. The lack of it made negatively remarkable. I don’t see a reason to go there if you’re going to get the same service as a McDonald’s drive through where they aren’t at all even concerned that you get what you order and just want to get you out of there. This is an awesome local place to go out to eat. The prices are fantastic for sushi and they offer an extensive half price menu which is completely affordable even for me as a broke college student. The food itself is great and I haven't had a bad roll yet. The service is also excellent. I've been at both peak and dead hours and I've never had to wait long for my food. It's a Japanese sushi place, kinda fast food or somethin. I'm not from around here. It aint Japan, but it's an interesting little place.🤣🤣 To say the least. They've definitely adapted to the American taste🤣 I didn't recognize 80% of the menu, but hey, this ain't Japan 🥰 The names of the sushi dishes are great! F--kin hilarious!!🥰 Love it!! The staff are really kind and friendly. It's pretty much all you got in this town so what can ya do?? Looked like they had some Japanese sushi chefs behind the bar. Wow! From the first time we went there our expectations are met and they are exceeding with their Sunny Roll! Yummy! Golden California rolls & Beef Udon are definitely on our table every visit. We live 45 minutes away so it's our destination sushi. Service is always amazing and they have the best ever Miso Soup! Thank you for all you do Takara Sushi! For a non-sushi dish at a sushi place, their teriyaki chicken bowl is pretty good. I felt like the chicken and the rice were perfectly portioned for each other, which is nice because most of the time you’re left with a ton of extra rice. Improvements that could be made would definitely be more sauce and also the price. This bowl cost $14 and while it was good I don’t think it’s worth it at that price point. This is a nice sushi place, service was great, place was clean, sushi was good. The only reason I don’t give 5 stars is their portion. We ordered 2 udons and it was just a small pot with probably 2/3 of what you would get at other restaurant. I order a tempura udon and beef udon, tempura udon only had 2 skinny pieces of shrimp… and beef only had a few prices of it too. This is more like a kids portion but we’re paying full price for it. I've never had a bad experience at Takara. Always good service and have never been able to find sushi that can compete! The happy stars are my favorite and the sushi is always nicely presented. Great tasting sushi. Good service. We came in a half hour before closing and we felt a little rushed but they were still courteous. We tried the French kiss roll and one other and they were both delicious.
