Virgin River and CasaBlanca are the two most favorite road trip stays for me (but not necessarily my wallet). It really delivers as a short jaunt destination or layover. Good food, comfortably thrifty rooms, and excellent service throughout. Gaming, unlike most local casinos in Southern Nevada, feels tight, but maybe that's just my luck. If you go, whether you like hot dogs or not, stop at the hot dog cart to eat a snack and meet the sweetest ladies for a pretty good ole hot dog and the best conversation in town. These are properties that shouldn't be missed, know before you go, it's kinda rural so pull your jeans on, leave attitude at the parking lot, put a big smile on your face and say hello to someone you don't know! The prime rib special, which was requested to be cooked medium, ended up being well done, resulting in a less-than-ideal texture and taste. Similarly, the Asian dish special was disappointing as it was missing certain components and failed to impress with its flavor. Furthermore, the service was lacking, with the staff appearing overwhelmed and inattentive to the needs of the customers. Overall, it was an underwhelming dining experience at the Virgin River Cafe. We keep seeing signs for the prime rib dinner in Mesquite NV. We decided to give it a try. We dined at the River Cafe in the Virgin river casino. To our surprise the prime rib special was very good for the price. ( $ 10.99 ). Our server Erica was very attentive, also the cafe looked remodeled. All and all we will return again. I had the French dip, the meat was super thick sliced prime rib, it was amazing! I loved the fries with the homemade ranch. The look of the place is deceiving, it looks like a bland hotel diner and the casino looks like a place from Vegas Vacation, but I loved the diner and Karen was a great waitress!
