I have eaten at Pescadero on multiple occasions and each time the service and food are spectacular. I particularly enjoy when they host special dinners. For instance, last night, they hosted their first Double Clutch Brewery + Pescadero beer pairing dinner and it was incredible! The care for authenticity and passion of both the chef and the award-winning Master Brewer for their crafts really made it special. The chef even contacted the oldest brewery in Germany that is famous for their Rauchbier to inquire about their famous blue sausage. In the end, the German brewery's chef gave Pescadero's chef the recipe, making us feel transported to Germany! I'm also quite picky about seafood and theirs always tastes fresh and high quality. The staff is very friendly and attentive as well. When entering, it feels warm, welcoming and intimate. I would highly recommend visiting! I placed a carryout order directly on Pescadero's website for dinner, and one of the entrees I ordered was the Pan-seared Sea Scallops. The menu stated that the scallops would be served with watercress, orzo, and a smokey tomato cream sauce, but what I got instead were overcooked sea scallops with a green colored mint sauce and badly burned carrots. I called the restaurant to let them know of this discrepancy, but no apology was issued. The woman on the phone was unfriendly and said she would tell one of the managers before hanging up the phone. I also ordered their Mussels and Frites. Maple syrup does not go well with mussels. Just order it without maple syrup and it's a great entree. It appears to taken my feedback updated their menu in their online ordering system to the current menu, but there has been no apology, call back, or appreciation from them. They clearly do not care about their customers. Since this is their attitude, I highly recommend that you not bother giving them your business. The night started off very strong. Our server Justin was a joy and had personality, a sense of humor, and a great vibe. He was attentive, made great suggestions for drinks, and kept everyone at the table in a great mood. The food... the food was hit and miss. Our appetizers were amazing. The calamari was a major hit with the entire table. And it gave us high hopes for the rest of the meal. Which was honestly a letdown. We ordered a variety of food, and the general consensus was, "It's alright." I ordered the seafood tower and got a giant bowl of ice. There wasn't enough food on the plate to feed one person, and for the price, I think that is unacceptable. So if you go be prepared because again the entire staff is pleasant and kind.
