The history that the owner shares is a part of the experience. The food is cooked to order and the hometown atmosphere is welcoming. You can’t experience it all in one visit. We make it a point to have breakfast there at least every other month, if not more, when we’re in the area.

First time having breakfast at the Mercantile. We've been going up to Hillsgrove for years and I don't know why we waited so long to eat here. Absolutely delicious. Had the sausage gravy and biscuits, best I've ever had and it was a huge portion. Can't wait to go back.

What a gem! A true mercantile with a little bit of everything, including a Post Office. I had the lumberjack breakfast sandwich and loved it! It was tasty and filling. But, as the menu warns you, be prepared to wait for your food.

Nice little general store with a little bit of everything. We got a few breakfast sandwiches to go and they were very good. If I am ever in the area again I will make sure to stop back for breakfast.
