I have once lived in Douglasville for many years and IMO Hudson's lost its luster at one point. I want to say they regained it. The food was well seasoned and the service was on point. The tables and chairs could use a little updating at some point, however doesn't take away from the food.

Everyone is so nice and attentive! The food is just as good as I remember over a decade ago, too. We drove an hour just to get lunch here today and it didn’t disappoint!

The food was very good. However, there were two sauces to choose from. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the whole meal. I like a sweeter bbq sauce, but everyone has their preferences. It would be awesome if there were a sweet sauce to go with the tangy sauce and the hot sauce. That would be the trifecta.

Sad to say, not what I remember. Dirt on the fries, didn't rinse the potatoes correctly ...if at all. Chopped pork was dry, and I observed the microwave being used continuously. Tips for "boys in the back" I'm fine being asked for, I can always give a simple no answer. I do however have a problem with giving them a tip and not receiving the quality I expected. Unfortunately, I won't be returning. They had a good run... it was just a matter of time until someone this establishment was passed to ran it into the ground.

How was a little disappointed by the lack of smoky flavor to the pulled pork. Will definitely give the restaurant another try but probably won't do the pulled pork again. The loaded fries were really really good and the mac and cheese for the 4-year-old in our group was good.. The coleslaw was average. The iced tea was really terrible, tasted like there was soap residue in the serving container. Our server though was on spot

Honestly don’t know why this place has so many good reviews. The place needs a remodeling baaaad, the cornbread is bone dry and salty, the meat is mediocre, and the service is subpar. The servers brought out a tray of our food, then left it there without passing it out to us, so my mom handed out my family’s food to us herself. The pulled pork sandwich pictured was supposed to be on a toasted bun but it had clearly been prepared earlier and was super soggy by the time it got to our table. We ordered cornbread but no one liked it, not even my baby who eats everything. The condiments were hard to find, we had to ask for barbecue sauce even though it’s a barbecue place?? Shouldn’t it be on the table, or come out with your food? I had to hunt down a waiter to get a spoon for my soup (which tasted like it was canned from a store). Overall terrible experience and just about anyone can make better barbecue than this on their own. Everyone in our large group who ate here agreed with this review (which consisted of 4 families), so consider yourself warned. (Also no changing table for babies in the bathroom but the waiter suggested I change my baby’s poopy diaper on any empty booth 👀 nasty. We didn’t do that but that should tell you everything you need to know about this place.)
Update: one of the party members got diarrhea from some bad smelling beef.

Ok, scratch my former 5 star review. Today I ordered a small rib plate and the ribs were so tough and hard they really gave my jaws a workout. But I would have given them 3 stars for that. But I just heard a waitress telling a little kid, jokingly ", don't make me flush your head down the toilet.". That may be country humor but I definitely don't belong here. You've been warned.
Cheery, warm, friendly place, fast service even during lunch rush. Vegetable soup was delicious and the "small" was NOT small 😅. Hickory potato was yummy and jalapeno cornbread was 💯

When I first walked in, I thought...
Definitely in need of an update. Not just the tables and chairs, but the wall decor and flooring.
I could have done without looking at animal heads hanging on the walls, very creepy and really out dated.
On the brighter side.,
Our waiter knew the menu very well and smiled the entire time. He was not only helpful with our dinner selection, but just a super nice young man.
We started out with the deep fried green beans and dipping sauce.
That was delish , then our second course was served.
Everything was hot and fresh, I did ask for more of the deep fried green beans with my meal instead of the French fries.
He was happy to switch the two sides for me.
Unfortunately, he did not mention that I was going to be charged the full price instead of an upcharge.
I did not get my full meal, they should of gave me another choice for my side or a discount on my meal on my bill.
For dessert...
The fried pies were recommended for dessert.
We ordered the apple and peach fried pies.
Unfortunately, we were not impressed. They both had so much breading that we couldn't really enjoy our pie.
The apple was just okay and the peach was very dry, not very much taste.
Plus they were baked instead of deep fried.
Everyone at our table stated they wish they would have ordered something else for dessert instead of the pies.
Overall.... it was just alright,not sure if my friends and I would go back.
If we do... Hopefully the animal heads will be buried with the rest of the animal body that it was taken off of.

Fried Green Beans with Cup Dressing
Hudsons has been a family staple for many years. My first time eating there I was 13. Now I go and take my family as often as we can. The restaurant is always inviting, it's clean, and the food and service are ALWAYS WONDERFUL. Everyone who likes Barbecue should try hudsons in Douglasville, GA. My photos are of fried green beans, hickory fry, and a suicide dog. All of which tasted amazing.

Needing food quickly on date night, we stopped here to grab a bite to eat. We ordered Hickory Fries with Beef for an appetizer. I ordered the Pork Plate. My wife ordered Super Salad with Smoked Chicken. Everything came out quickly and the plates were overflowing. Great flavor on the Barbecue. We will definitely return in the future. This location is highly recommended!
