We are concerned they will go out of business soon. The owners must be strapped for cash. They added a 3% mandatory gratuity for kitchen staff on top of tip and taxes and 20$ breakfast sandwiches. They also started making smaller portions. For instance: They brought up 2-1/2 pieces of toast on the 4 piece order without enough jam. The food is still excellent. I’m a frequent patron here but something has changed. I always got the chicken salad but the salad I got yesterday had no resemblance to the old one that I loved. Menu was printed on a sheet of printer paper. Must be a new owner. Sister ordered French Onion soup that was awful. The French onion soup today was extremely thick and more like a stew, with only a sprinkling of cheese on top then covered with toast rounds. It was not baked and oozing with cheese over the sides as expected. Also had a disappointing slice of quiche which was way too heavily filled with meats and vegetables while the crust was rock hard and needed to be sawed with a knife.
