We order appetizers papá rellena and tamales and for main plates lomo saltado and trucha frita . Server didn't even say hi ,them we were waiting for the appetizer,but they brought the main plates first and after a while the appetizers ,which the papá rellena is flour, not made of potato flour,them tamales super dry and it's no even a tamal ,them the lomo saltado was super salty and only 5 pieces of meat ,trucha frita was all right. As a Peruvian I feel offended how they make the food and also the server should be more nice and respectful. Do not come to this restaurant if you wanna have a bad experience. This is a quality Peruvian restaurant in downtown Gaithersburg. The food is authentic Peruvian cuisine & is excellent. The Lomo Saltado is especially good and priced below numerous competitors. The place feels quaint & suitable for couples, singles, or families. Interestingly, the restaurant changed its original name to "Chicken Bar." For chicken, this remains apropos, but as a bar, they are woefully remiss on the lack of beer selection. In a day & age of microbrews & craft beers, they have missed the boat. I was looking for a hidden gem, a surprise, and I found it. Great collegial atmosphere, friendly service, excellent food. I had ceviche, tamales, and chicharon. The Pisco sours were nice too. I went to this restaurant today for the daily Menu they have. It usually includes an appetizer and an entrée. The server told us that the drinks were included. The drinks were so sugary and the food was not as great. The total to pay for it was of $27 dollars. It was outrageous to pay that amount of money for that quality of food and they charged us the drinks. They did not care about it and we were very disappointed of this place, the server, the person at the cashier and the food. I WON'T EVER GO BACK again!!!!! Please ask first if you go. Honestly, I’m a little disappointed, this is my first time trying this place…and for the price… I don’t think it’s worth it. The chicken is somewhat OK. The young lady at the front desk was nice. But I think if you’re paying almost $13-$14 for food… I think you should get a little bit more food than what is shown. Picture below is the quarter meal with two sides. French fries, plus plantains. $9+tax + $3.20 soda. I probably won’t try this place again. But I will say, the place was clean, neat, drinks well stocked, music playing. Decent setup. I've now come here twice and absolutely love it and recommend it to anyone that's looking for a great Peruvian restaurant. Pictured, here is my Tacu Tacu con Lomo and Seco de Cordero. Came in this afternoon for an early dinner. Service was fantastic, our server offered good suggestions, fast and friendly service. We had a corn and cheese appetizer that was a bit odd, I was glad we ordered it but I would try a different starter next time. We ordered the half chicken which was juicy, hot, and fresh. The chicken fried rice was a good portion of flavorful rice. The trout was good, it was a large piece of fish; the rice and potato which came with needed more flavor or seasoning. Lastly the lamb shank, which the server recommended, was great (pictured). The meat fell off the bone, the sauce mixed well with the canary beans and balanced with the rice. Overall, everything was great but I would suggest checking your receipt for auto gratuity which was added on our table of 4. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $10–20

By far the best Peruvian restaurant in Gaithersburg and northern Rockville. Everything is fresh, made with love, and tastes delicious. Ceviche here is amazing!
