Great service and atmosphere. My wife had the fried pork chops with fries and lima beans. Large serving of 2 pork chops which from my one bite was deliciously tender and perfectly cooked. I ordered the hamburger steak lunch special of the day which came with grilled onions and gravy, fried okra, mash potatoes and gravy, lima beans, and a roll. Portioning was perfect on the sides but a little skimpy on the hamburger burger steak but it might be because it's a lunch portion. The hamburger steak was definitely overcooked and dry as I ordered medium and it was definitely well done. This was my only complaint as a second time customer which ordered the dinner hamburger steak the first time. Pricing is very decent. We waited for an hour to be seated. We only had 7 people in our group. They did not tell us that the little room to the left would be the only place to seat anyone. A group of 12 came after us and the gentleman at the front acknowledged them before he acknowledged us because they stated that they tried to call to make a reservation. He then stated to them that the restaurant does not take reservations but as soon as the table in the little room was available he would sit them in there. I then spoke up and asked why would he acknowledge them and seat before even acknowledging us. A rude lady with the party stated because she knows the owner. To be so entitled like that and disrespectful to those who was waiting for an hour will be the reason why I would never be back. On top of that we got charged an 18% gratuity for a party of 7 when their own sign said 12 or more and after 7pm on a Saturday. We were there at 3:00 and stayed until 5. This was a Monday lunch visit. We were quickly seated, we ordered a Margarita and a draft beer to start. They came back and said the draft beer was out or broke, so husband got a bottle beer. My margarita was good but nothing special, I’ve had better and I’ve had a lot worse. We ordered fish and shrimp plater and husband had a honey mustard chicken sandwich, everything was great. Very hot food! Waitress was good but would advise not to stand behind someone so they have turn to ask you a question. We were in a booth and I asked her a question and she leaned on back side of booth by my head, talking to me so I basically hand to Crain my neck back and up. She was sweet and very attentive, just a recommendation. Lastly was a bad smell, I’ve been in restaurants before that had the same smell and I think it’s those big black rugs. I really don’t know what they could do about it besides shampoo. The food was pretty good and I would go back when their draft was fixed lol. Came in for lunch. Seated quickly, but the place filled up fast. Waiter was always nearby making sure we were happy. Drink refill came without even asking. We were stuffed with great food, but the fried pies are world famous. So, we ordered ours to go. One of the best lunch experiences ever. Update: 2nd Review for 10/15 scroll down My husband and l ate there on Saturday for the first time. We had the best server that we have ever had since moving here in 2008. She's a lovely young woman named Hannah. She's knowledgeable and attentive. I had the shrimp tacos and my husband had the Salmon special of the day. They were both excellent. We also shared a dessert that was Insane! Fried Pecan Pie on a bed of chocolate and caramel sauce with ice cream and whipped cream. We highly recommend Chesterfields and Hannah. You will love it. Update: Ate there 10/15 Saturday. It was really good today also. We had Lane as our server. He was fabulous also. Today we had the Chicken 49r and Fried Pork Chop plate. They were really good. Anytime you can cut a chicken breast with a fork it's been cooked the right way. The Turtle Cheesecake was really good. The food the service and the atmosphere are consistently great and that's hard to find. Try Chesterfields and ask for Hannah or Lane you'll be pleased with both!
