Casita Miramar - located in Miramar, serves consistently delicious, comforting and outstanding Puerto Rican food. We ordered two small plates to start the meal and one entree to share. The small plates were pork alcapurrias (stuffed cassava and banana fritters with house-made hot sauce) and buñuelos (taro root and chorizo fritters). The alcapurrias were my favourite by a slight margin and I think that was mainly due to the pique rojo (hot sauce). The main that we shared was a pastélon. A pastélon is a traditional Puerto Rican pasta dish that is layers of thinly sliced plantains, ground beef, and local cheese fondue. It is akin to a Puerto Rican lasagna but what was surprising to the both of us was how sweet the dish was. The pastélon was accompanied by rice and beans. Once again, we found that the side dishes were delicious. The beans were porky and unctuous. Seated outside on the patio, we enjoyed the cooler evening and watched the street as we dined. Definitely a restaurant you don’t want to miss. I also highly recommend getting a reservation as wait times can be long. This was our first trip to Puerto Rico and wow what an impression this place made! We were there for my husband’s birthday. I saw Casita Miramar online while doing some research and it came up as one of the top places and accidentally came across it while lost driving around 😂 But I’m glad we did because when I saw it I thought it was so beautiful and authentic looking and decided that was where we were going to have dinner the next day. When we got there the valet driver were super friendly and helpful. Our waiter. Jesus was very warm and hospitable. The staff made sure to check in to see that we were doing ok. The staff sang Feliz Cumpleanos to hubby and were so energized we loved it 😊 The FOOD and Mojitos were delicious. We loved the plantain soup, swordfish and grandma’s tribute🥣😋 All in all it was an incredible experience. Gracias Jesus and the rest of the staff for making our day special 😊❤️ Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $50–60 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I will start off by saying the atmosphere and service for this place was really nice/good. We had a wait a bit due to us not having reservations, which was fine. However, for food and drinks it was just okay. The Fried Cheese and Seasonal Jam was a little disappointing, it didn't taste like what I imagined it would, just wasn't for me. My cousin had the Ajilimojili Salad and Pastelon, which was decent. I had the Drunken Chicken w/ Rice & Beans, that was pretty good. And the complimentary soup was great but the codfish fritters were too oily for my liking. For my beverage, I ordered lemonade, that was very tangy, it could’ve been sweeter.
