Great service, and the staff were very friendly. I went in at dinner time with the intention of getting breakfast. After looking over all my options I opted for the pot roast instead. The pot roast is one of their customers favorite dishes, it was definitely good but not the greatest I've ever had. I still enjoyed my meal, but will try breakfast next time. I do want to commend the hostess, Constance. A homeless man came in while I was dining and he was seated in the booth next to me. He stated he only had a few dollars and wanted a drink. When she returned with his drink I let her know I wanted to pay for his meal. She thanked me kindly, but said she had already worked it out for him to receive a meal. She was so incredibly kind to this man. She treated him with dignity and grace. You don't always see restaurants seating the homeless, and you don't always see the staff going above and beyond such as Constance did. Kudos to this location, manager, and Constance. Pretty disappointed.. most other locations of this franchise is good. This one… left a lot to be desired. Our server was great-however- I ordered the 19.99 prime rib.. I’m aware of where I’m getting it.. but why ask a temp? (Mid rare because I’m not a monster).. when the briquette showed up it had passed away from a second death.. there was nothing mid.. or rare… about it… when I pointed it out to the server she said that the back of house ‘had everything pre cooked so it’s hard to do a mid rare’… so.. why ask a temp? She told me that they were almost out so that’s another issue too… so… why not 86 it? My whole family was done eating by the time I got any food to replace the fire starter. Also asked for a loaded baked potato and ordered the soup.. both arrived barren and not with the rest of the party.. Needless to say.. today was not a win in the ‘eating out’ department. We shall try again another day. Edit: I just had a great discussion with Bryce. He really dug into the issue and clarified some of the situation but was MORE than empathic and fair. Due to his customer service we will absolutely be returning and giving this spot another chance. Bad days happen but these guys are awesome at fixing the bad days. The food here is great! Make sure you get the bacon! The pancakes are delicious and we liked the California Benedict. Today we got seated in a weird area and I think we didn't get a waitress assigned to us. Nicole saved the day by adopting us and took great care of us! Seriously appreciate the initiative and hustle. My recent visit to Black Bear Diner in Draper left me somewhat satisfied! The highlight of my meal was the Cinnamon Roll French Toast. The service was also great. The staff at Black Bear Diner provided excellent service with a warm and welcoming attitude. They were attentive and friendly. Loved the flavor, the atmosphere, and the service! But I admit the portions seemed a tad small considering they brag about their generous portions. But I still loved loved it and will go again. I went in for dinner. The place has a very good ambiance with lots of Bear themed stuff and merchandise. Has a good list of options. The food was good and had good portion sizes. There could be more options for chicken. My waitress Oakley answered my questions and was polite. The price was appropriate. You must try the Huckleberry ice cream. It was very good. Food was good but exceptional. We got the BLT with sweet potato fries and the Big Bob’s Burger. The burger was huge! You can’t leave hungry if you order that. Came to this location on a Wednesday at 9:45am. I fully understand the staffing issues that are effecting the entire industry right now, but sadly multiple staff walked past us without acknowledgement of our existence. It would have been nice to hear some reassurance that they knew we were waiting for a table instead of what seemed to be avoiding eye contact. After 12 minutes we were finally fetched by a server and seated. It then sadly took us 10 minutes to get drink orders in, even longer to get a food order in and an overly lengthy wait for food to come to the table. Thankfully we had time on our hands to wait for the service and food, but if we had any sort of time commitment after this meal we would have had to walk out without eating because of the sheer seemed lack of urgency from the staff. Thankfully the food itself needs some praise. The sausage links were delicious, the pancakes were enormous and fluffy.
