We always enjoy eating at a Yard House. We had the wings (lemon pepper dry rub) and the pretzel with a couple of beers. Also tried the tortilla soup which was different than any tortilla soup I had before. It was creamy with toasted tortillas on top. Really yummy. Our waitstaff was prompt and friendly. I had a wonderful time with my mom and mother in law. The service was great! Nico started us with drinks and apps, and then our server came , which her name escapes me, but was very sweet. I do wish they would check in on us a bit more, but then that is what the gadget on the table is for. They seem to work as a team, so once I figured that out, it was smooth sailing. The food was delicious. Started with spinach and artichoke dip. It's always a hit. The moms raved about it. My mother in law had the salmon, my mom had the filet mignon, and I had the ahi. My mother in law said it was the best salmon she had had. Perfectly cooked. The filet was tender, and it was such a generous size that there was enough for seconds the next day. Mash potatoes and veggies were yummy, too. My Ahi was perfectly seared and fresh. I would go dinner here any day of the week. Drinks were good. I had an espresso martini. It was nicely balanced with the right sweetness. My mom had a mocktail topo chico with passion fruit puree. That always hits. Finally, my mother in law had Cadillac margaritas with a patron mix they made in house. She loved it! This is a great date night spot, but the music does play a bit loud, so talking may be a bit challenging. Although you can sit right next to each other for a cozy dinner and talk. They don't take reservations, so keep that in mind when going. Our wait was about 25 minutes, and it was worth it. I loved our waiter he was so friendly and very helpful. My grandson and I had dinner there. He ordered the steak bowl, which comes with a salad that is big enough for 3 people, which we shared. I ordered a bowl of chicken tortilla soup. Everything was delicious, especially the steak bowl! This is one of my go to dinner & drink spots in Bakersfield. Every time I go the service & quality is the best. The food is always good. Last time I had an ahi tuna burger and I recommend.
