Absolutely love this place. It reminds me of old gold rush town from 1888 but it's 2024... Love the small town vibe,. Where every one knows everyone and it's just gorgeous there the river Is amazing
Food was mediocre. It tasted fine, not something to write home about. It saved us when we didn't feel like cooking at our camp site.
Just keep in mind, this is small town restaurants so don't expect fast service. Walk in and take out only, nothing is in a rush so be there to wait.
Bar is next door and great friendly service. Cash only, there is a ATM in the front of the hotel.
EXTREMELY disappointed in this property. If I could give zero or negative stars, I would. I booked it for my daughter who was going to be in the area for a wedding. The bride was traveling from Virginia to have her wedding in the area so her Mother could attend. Unfortunately, the bride's mother passed away unexpectedly and the wedding was cancelled. I called the hotel and was told that they have a TWO week cancellation policy but that I could email the owners to see if they would make an exception. I emailed the owners AND THEY NEVER RESPONDED and it's been more than a month. Yes, I was disappointed in the cancellation policy however, death is never convenient. What I am most disappointed in is that I NEVER RECEIVED A RESPONSE which is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE. I will NEVER stay here nor will I recommend it.
The place was okay. The patio outside in the back gave us a nice view of the Yuba River. We had our lunch out there. I was with three other people who ordered sandwiches and I had the Chicken Strips. When the Strips were brought out, they looked burnt. No complaints except for me, but then it's kind of hard to ruin a sandwiche.
I gave 5 stars on the services and rooms because the point if going to this hotel is to unplug and disconnect! Put your phone down, unplug, relax, and have a beer. The facilities are old but well kept. The river, forest, and general area help to decompress and forget the hustle and bustle of life.
We went for the benefit they were having to Save the Hotel and Cafe. The Bartender was rude to multiple people in our group on separate visits to the bar. The outside bartender was very nice ( I think I was told her name is Jenna) . I’m assuming the bartender is the same one with poor reviews, brunette long wavy hair. You would think they would be kinder to customers who are buying food and drinks and supporting the benefit to save the hotel, not like you have many job opportunities there. They lost out on business that day because our friends just walked away and said never mind to ordering after she threw her hands up in the air mad because he ordered an old fashioned and they don’t have oranges. Get a grip lady, and some customer service skills.
Historic Hotel in the little town of Washington. We were there on a Friday fundraiser for the hotel, live music, and hot dogs sold out on the lawn area .
Beautiful grounds, and the Yuba River was raging from this winter's snow melt. Fun bar area with good beer on tap and a full mixed drinks selection .
I stayed @ Washington Hotel in Feb. 2022. this was a wonderful, relaxing, place to stay. I ate the best steak I have ever ate in my life there. They have great cooks. this small town has the most wonderful people this side of Heaven. If you like visiting a quiet place to take a vacation, this is the place. Beautiful Scenery. So very relaxing. This was the second time I have been to Washington, Ca. Stayed there in 2001 & again this year. & I love it there. The people are so very nice. The room in the hotel was great, I love the way the hotel is. If you want to get away from the busy life, this is the place to go.
First time staying there. Didn't even know it existed. The hotel is a blast from the past like going back to the 1880's gold rush time so be ready for that and forget about cell service (the best part for me). The bar and restaurant are great and the food was amazing. Had friends stay at the camp site as well and it was equally awesome. Rode our UTV's and visited Bowman lake. Will defiantly be coming back and in fact have already booked it.
We had a wonderful couple of days at the Washington Hotel - it's a magical place and we thoroughly recommended it. Situated right on the Yuba river, we swam in beautiful clear waters and took in the amazing views. The team are super helpful and friendly and the locals in the bar were so friendly and welcoming to their town.
