After experiencing an incredibly rude interaction by the owners of the nearby Smokey’s place, I decided to walk over to the Truckee Food Shop and grab a roasted half chicken with vegetables and Caesar salad. The owner was probably the most pleasant person I’ve dealt with in a very long time. And the food was great! I went on my home to Sacramento area but stopped at the lookout on the old Donner Summit Road. I enjoyed my meal with the wonderful scenery in front of me. It was nice and much better than dealing with that rude old old lady at Smokey’s. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Everything that I have ever bought from here, from sandwiches made to order to prawn enchiladas for dinner to their marinated rib eyes and prawn ceviche, has been extraordinary! They also have some interesting products from around the world as well as Ryze, a mushroom coffee.
