Wow wow wow! One of the best meals we’ve ever had (and we’re from NYC!). Even a simple salad was fantastic. The mussels in particular were outstanding. We loved it so much we tried going again the next day but we couldn’t get a reservation. Highly recommend. Worth the trip to flagstaff alone! Amazing food and service! The environment is so cozy and friendly. This is the first time visiting flagstaff with my wonderful boyfriend and we decided to check this place out, I'm glad to say that we did! Vivian was our server and she was really sweet and friendly and would check often on us to see if everything was okay! She is definitely the best server I've had so far here in flagstaff(: and even Racheal the manager would as well! They were all kind including the host and his warm welcome. The food was amazing and it's safe to say that I am a picky eater for sure but honestly props the chef and everyone in the kitchen who worked on our plates because it came out really delicious! There were a few hiccups on the food front (it happens). But they found their stride on course three onwards and hit it out of the park from there. The service by the whole team from door to server was very good and attentive, without being overly. The manager was very kind and handled a bump in the experience with professionalism and grace. This place is a must try for those looking for date night/celebrations/fine dining in Flagstaff! Compliments to the Chefs (filet and pork loin pictured were to DIE FOR) and Our Server Charlie. Everyone did a wonderful job all around. We did not realize this was a higher end place at first, we were still politely welcomed in our sweatpants and sweatshirts. (I forget his name but the man with a ponytail was great at helping us get a table and gave us the exact amount of time it would take for our table) I was very impressed that Charlie asked if there was any allergies at the table before any drinks/food were brought out. This is something I have never been asked at a fine dining restaurant. Charlie thoroughly explained popular house entrees in extreme detail and also gave his personal take on the food. (I asked lots of questions about the food and they were answered in great detail) Another thing I was very impressed with is that we were not overly bothered but also not underserviced. Charlie was very good at understand when we wanted to be bothered and when everything was good for us. Even offered to box our leftovers for us which is rare nowadays. I did not catch the other 2 employees names that helped us throughout the night. (One was wearing full black business casual fit with a ponytail and the other one was wearing a green dress) Being so welcomed by every employee was greatly appreciated and we will definitely be back. We were offered a small portion of sorbet before our meal to cleanse our pallet to get the full flavor of our entrees. We were greeted with a 30 minute wait in which we decided to grab a cocktail next door at a cocktail lounge directly next door named Annex. (We asked and found out both restaurants are owned by the same person in which both places offer a great atmosphere). The service and drinks were also delicious at Annex. If you are unable to get a table right away at Tinderbox, grab a drink at the bar next door at Annex, you will not regret it. Thanks again for the wonderful service. I will be coming back next vacation. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience. The only minor inconvenience is that the bathroom is small and a bit rundown and the water pressure was horrible when trying to wash my hands but Charlie was quick to fix the water pressure issue when I brought it up. The other issue was parking in downtown flagstaff but that is an issue you will run into for any place in flagstaff this time of year. Still 10/10 all around. I think even Gordan Ramsey would be impressed! Thanks again to the Chefs, Charlie, and the rest of the staff for a wonderful, memorable experience on my vacation. I had an absolutely incredible experience at this place! I can say that I had the best dishes I've ever tasted in America. The drinks were amazing! We had the pleasure of sitting at the bar, where Emily crafted the most delightful cocktails for us. We start our meal with the Brie appetizer, which was absolutely divine. And as for the main course, we opted for the Filet Mignon, which surpassed all expectations. I completely recommend it to anyone seeking a truly memorable dining experience. Absolutely amazing find in Flagstaff. We had the chef's 5-course meal along with the wine pairing. It was one of the best culinary experiences I've had. The food was phenomenal. The wine was perfectly paired. The service was at a level above impeccable. Charlie was our server and he was beyond professional, timely, courteous, and really made our experience a forever memory. Upscale restaurant that I was able to grab a seat at the small bar as I was solo on this trip. i’d recommend hitting their site for a reservation just to make sure yiu can get in. The staff, food and service were amazing - highlight of the trip. The brie appetizer was great, and the chef complimented an amazing pallete cleanser afterwards. The steelhead trout and blue cornbread main was the star of the meal. Went with the unique dessert option of Pistachio Vanilla Sable to finish off the meal. Overall just a fantastic experience!
