9:10pm. Saturday night. Music was supposed to start at 8. Nothing yet. Server sucks. Place packed. We are leaving. Being nice with 3 stars. Should be 2 UPDATE: PB&J 2024 would be nice to get some service ….. I guess they couldn’t hire anyone …. Food choices are …. Could be better. Band was good. Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5

Took a mother/daughter trip to Poulsbo and ended up at the pub after snooping around the area. The Brass Kraken is a fun adults only pub right on the water. The staff are friendly and the food was good. The drinks are nice and strong and there is a good variety of beer on tap. We really enjoyed the garlic ranch wings, and the fish and tots were great as well. The clam chowder was also tasty and had lots of clam meat. We were constantly checked in on by the staff and waters were always refilled. They even have beignets which we saw come out but didn't get to try since we were stuffed. My husband and I, both seniors, had lunch here yesterday, and had a nice lunch and one of the best waitresses either one of us have ever encountered! I think her name was Elizabeth, but if not just ask who served the two old folks facing the water on 12/17/23 - she was fantastic! From their small Pub menu I asked how big the BLT was and if I could get it without the egg, she showed showed me how large, and of course I could get it without the egg. The sandwich was just right, quite good and both my husband and I were pleased that for the first time ever in our lives there were just a good handful of French Fries instead of an overflowing plateful (I know some people welcome that, we don't.) My husband had the Lamb Burger with Goat Cheese and raved about it. Great view of the bay and boats. Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

I rarely leave reviews, but beware of this place. You will likely be sick when you get home. We went in the evening of 11/30/2023. We wanted nice burgers for a special dinner, figured $20 burgers at the Brass Kraken would surely be good burgers… Wrong. Who serves ground beef raw in the middle... The western burger uses stale sourdough. Middle of the night the sickness hit, only food ate since lunch was here, and seeing this place and the questionable beef that should have been sent back, it was surely here. They are oddly stingy too… We did not want the sauce that came with the burgers, asked for a side of mayo, of course that costs extra on top of an already overpriced meal. If you are narrowing down between trying two different beers, beware, they only do two tasters… That’s per table… So when Amanda came back to take our drink order, she seemed off put that I was sticking with water because I wasn’t going to branch out not knowing what the ciders I was considering tastes like… She gave some attitude and came back with a taster, I did buy one, and not the one I was leaning toward, so I’m glad I was able to try. She said the owner is strict. The only good things I have to say are that the fries were good, and the Cheese Curds were very good. Men’s restroom was trashed, maybe they had a hard night of bad guests, or that’s just how it is here. TVs are way too loud, but maybe that’s just because it was a game night. Hopefully the owner actually reads these and makes improvements. I try to be understanding; I still tipped her even being unhappy with the attitude, the stinginess, the overinflated cost for low quality burgers, and the overall experience. Great food! Loved the wings - dry rubbed with Kraken spice! Awesome spring mix salad with hose made honey mustard. Our server was amazing, and the 7 Seas Lager went down smoothly on a warm day! The view is amazing! There's hardly a bad seat in the place. I loved the atmosphere and the games that you could play. The drinks were plentiful. It's easy to find and get to. Great location, can’t beat the view. Excellent service as well, I just found the food to be a bit greasy and lacking flavor, could be what we ordered. The calamari was really great, which is a new one on me. Pulled pork taco’s were ok and the Cuban was good. They offer little flexibility for substitution, we wanted wheat bread or a wrap with our Cuban and they said no. Would go here again for a beer in the patio overlooking the Puget Sound. This definitely looks like the go-to spot in Poulsbo for sports, beer, and classic pub fare. Plenty of TV's and taps, the service is always good, and all were masked up on my last visit (Oct '21). Parking might be a little tricky on a busy day. I recently tried the boneless wings which were great. My buddy had the American Burger and was less impressed, hence the 4-star review instead of 5. Everything else was great, I will definitely stop by again some day! Olympic Otter
