My sister and I went for lunch one day~ We had never had Somalian food and didn’t know what to order. The staff there made some suggestions and we had the yummiest food EVER🩷 everybody was so sweet and helpful! We are planning to return many times in the future and bring family and friends! This place was very good. The food was absolutely delicious but the meat was a bit too over cooked for my personal preferences. This restaurant absolutely spoils you with their portion size, 2 meals could feed 5 people. We also received so much flatbread I couldn't manage to eat all of it, and our mango juice cups were filled all the way to the brim with no room left in the cup. Only problem is communication if you don't speak somali, the waiters know english but if you don't pay attention accents can get in the way of fully understanding. All in all I fully reccommend this place from a cooking standpoint but beware that Lake Street has amazing food but isn't a very safe street from what I've heard. As soon as my friend and I walked in, we were welcomed with a smile and a warm welcome. She suggested a few dishes we should try and the food was delicious and I enjoyed the leftovers for lunch just as much☺️ We had chai as well. Yummy! Music in the establishment would be the only thing I would add to make the great experience even better. Thank you and I’ll be back for more! This is the best Somali restaurant on Lake Street. The food is delicious and the staff is very professional and friendly. The food was so good I went again on the same day and dined here. They also open very early in the morning so you can grab the best Somali tea and breakfast on your way to work. I highly recommend this place. This humble looking restaurant has the most delicious Somali and East African food on Lake Street. The soup was perfect and the goat+rice portions were more than I deserved. This was my first time trying Somali food, as I wanted to try something new and I couldn't have asked for a better experience! The staff was very kind and friendly, plus, the food was great! The place looked really nice, was clean, and the staff was very attentive I would definitely visit again :))
