Sat at the bar with a friend. I dine out a lot and enjoy sitting at the bar in a restaurant because it generally has a friendly vibe. Not with this bartender. Snarky is the word that comes to mind. I worked in restaurants many years ago and my family had two restaurants on the Cape. This bartender would have been tossed. It’s a shame because the food is good but his obnoxious attitude is too off putting. If you can’t handle the pace of a busy bar while being affable-get out of business! Definitely NOT the best (THE Best? Really???) in Boston as some have allegedly claimed. Not even close!!! FRAUDULENT claim! FALSE ADVERTISING! Just an OK suburban restaurant. The chicken was actually slightly overcooked. Not tender. The other dishes were good but not special. Not earth shattering. When the host showed us the table, he just made a head gesture vs saying graciously “this way please” or “Please follow me.” And our belated Valentine’s Day celebration note was not acknowledged at all. Will NEVER go back! They will not acknowledge your celebrations! Why spend our money there??? When there are actually many great restaurants in Boston Cambridge with perfectly executed food and attentive hospitality! Will delete the food photos I took with my Canon mirrorless camera and not post: NOT Instagram worthy restaurant. Called ahead, was advised to "show up" and likely get a seat at the bar. Was there by 6, seated at at the bar right away. Service (Aaron) was fantastic, food was beautiful and delicious, and wine list was high quality and had something for everyone. Excellent experience. The only place fully booked, crowded, with a wait line at 6pm on a Tuesday! Everything will be the best thing you ever ate and the drinks compliment that experience. Due to the tight entry, you may feel that you're bugging the staff but I think they're used to it at this point and this place is worth the wait. Nice vibe and ambience! Food options are limited but very delicious. It is more of a couple and romantic restaurant rather than big groups and family. Pretty much no option for kids. The salads are great and fresh and unique in flavor. We tried moules frites and schnitzel. Both very tasty. The broth of moules was thick and flavorful. Cocktails were hit or miss. PHENOMENAL! Best meal i’ve eaten in Boston. Everything here is done with excellence. Small but charming restaurant. Staff are skilled, competent and friendly. The drinks are amazing! I love the wine and the cocktails are made to perfection. Love that they’re seasonal. For appetizers, I recommend the kale & farro salad. The pork belly was also delicious. Entrees, though always changing, have always been a 10/10. This time we got the chicken, pork chop, steak and swordfish. Inventive, exquisitely prepared entrees in a bright and welcoming atmosphere. I was blown away by their chicken dish and the eggplant dish was amazing as well. The food more than makes up for the inconsistency in service - I think we experienced a shift change and were forgotten. No matter (this time) , we’ll be back!

A tough reservation to get, but definitely worth the wait! This place exceeded expectations. Everything was delicious and our waiter was very helpful in deciding what to get. What a GEM of a restaurant....it's in the top 5 discussion of best of Boston hands down. The menu you can tell the chefs get free range on what they want to do and work with. Everything from the moment we walked in with the Host and front of house staff down the meal was perfect. All of the food was delicious. The beignets....oh lord they are better than anything I've had in New Orleans.....I said what I said.
