Let's start with the positives.
It is a nice little shop with nice people. Everything presents well. I purchased a chocolate chip cookie, a sandwich cookie, a peach pie bar, a brownie and a cinnamon roll. Total cost $20.59.
I have had a worse chocolate chip cookie I just can't remember when. It had no flavor and wasn't baked enough. The sandwich cookie was the same, bland and not baked long enough. The filling tasted like sweetened shortening. The peach pie bar was also disappointing, again very bland. The bottom crust was good and the sliced peach added some much needed flavor. The brownie was a better option. Very fudgy and tasty! The cinnamon roll, although good, did not live up to the rave reviews I'm seeing here. It would have been better without the icing. The icing again was flavorless and there was far too much of it. In all honesty you can get better cookies and frosting from the Wal-Mart bakery. The great reviews I'm seeing here certainly didn't reflect what I tried today.
The cinnamon buns were gone when we got there, but got to watch Sarah make up a batch for the next day! They looked amazing and weigh about a pound apiece! Everything looked so good and we finally decided on a Lemon Blueberry scone and a cookie! Both were excellent. Great service, good prices and wonderful people and baked goods. If you are near by or even if you want to make a day trip I think you will find it worth it!
Lovely inside and out! Even lovelier are the baked goods! All made from scratch, which makes her products incredible with each product being a wonderful surplus of delight in taste and the highest of satisfaction in the consumption of her offerings.
I discovered this bakery as I overheard a conversation which involved the mother of the owner & baker. I attempted to respectfully thrust myself into the overheard conversation in order to learn more about this bakery.
All conversationalist were so nice and accommodating of my popping myself into their time of talking.
My wife and I took a drive to Fair Haven (which is a very, very nice little village located adjacent to Fair Haven State Park. So it’s location is in a most lively area to visit and spend some time.
Sadly Sarah had departed before we arrived, but her mother (from where I learned of this bakery) was there and was so inviting, kind and a joy to share in a conversation. I must also include the young woman with whom we first had contact; she being just as kind, accommodating and delightful as one would desire to have as an employee.
This experience in learning of the bakery, and then visiting the bakery, I consider very much a true blessing and blessed experience.
I have maybe written 2 other reviews; I only do so when I am no less than “blown away”
It’s nice to partake in all that comes from a owner/baker who is passionate, highly skilled and so devoted to begin a business and provide such quality and wonderful baked goods, and all within so comfortable and peaceful a place in which one is surrounded by a great atmosphere: inside or outside at the spaces created in order to partake of whatever baked joys one desires.
Great work to all there, and to the master baker herself.
What! This place has some amazing options. We look everywhere for chocolate orange baked goods and can never find any. The cinnamon rool is dense, which is usually a bad thing. These have a nice little glazed crunch to them with the perfect amount of icing. The cinnamon to rool ratio is almost perfect! Will definitely be going out of my way to return.
