Beautiful views from this winery! We had a big birthday party and we were able to reserve tables for our group through their website. Emails communication was prompt and everything was set up for us when we arrived.
Our group love their sparkling white wine, the Falanghina white, the Sangiovese, and their Celebrations red blend.
Since we had a big group, we bought bottles to share instead of doing their white tastings. Service was spectacular too!
We will definitely be back!
I recommend this winery to everyone. The customer service is outstanding and the views and wine is fantastic! The owners are so gracious and kind, and the staff is so helpful. Not to mention they are pet friendly!
This is my top favorite winery in Escondido! It is the Best! Love their wine, high-quality and tasty reds! Love the atmosphere there and their location is fantastic. So many options of seating areas and they're all great! The views are epic. The customer service here is excellent! Will always come back here and enjoy their tasty red wine collection and enjoy the amazing view!
In a region with a booming winery scene, Speckle Rock is a step above the rest. We've been there a number of times now and always enjoy the view, the wine, and the live music. They're very laid-back about reserving tables for any size party if you call in advance, and every table has a beautiful view out over the valley. A new highlight from our visit this past weekend is their Vineyard Tour. Call to check when this is being offered, but it was an absolute blast to get to ride around the property and see all the fascinating hidden gems tucked away around the vines. There's history in those hills I had no idea of, and it was a great time getting to explore it all!
Nice views but received horrible customer service. Arrived at our 11am reservation to be told that the atv was charging all night and around 98% charge. 6 minutes in apparently it was dying and saying 68% but they confirmed with us they would charge it until 1pm and confirms a new 1pm reservation for us. It was slightly raining not pouring and we didn’t mind as we flew cross country for the San Diego vineyards and wineries. 30 or so minutes before 1pm we get told it’s 12% charge and we can still go if it’s charged up to 25%. They come back before the new reservation and tell us it’s bad out there, that the last tour a guy was complaining so if we were sure we wanted to go - literally trying to talk us out of it but we said we’re down. Then I overheard him telling the manager the issue was they were afraid to not have that same ride charged for their 2pm tour that was with locals in dresses and suits. Once they come back and tell us okay it’s 100% charged let’s go, we were tired of the lies and said we’re getting Uber. Not even 10 mins after the manager himself comes and takes a medium size seat from one of the members of our party to give it to the other group despite a back room with plenty of seating that he could have offered to the other guests - i spoke to them and advised them to invest in more atvs, more taller chairs, and to not move others when they have a back seating room with so much indoor seating but they wanted us to leave badly since they said ‘well they have a reservation’ and I reminded him how they cancelled two reservations on us in one day. He offered to top off our already bought glasses of wine, I’ve never been offered a sip of wine as a way of saying sorry we’re so mismanaged and unprofessional. It took our shut off faces 4 minutes later for him to actually offer a bottle on the house. They need to invest in etiquette classes as well. We paid for 3 glasses and left with two free on the house and one bottle after 3 hours of waiting and being lied to because I doubt the atv is so old it jumped from 98 to 68 to 12 to 100% all in the span of 3 hours and about 2.6 of those hours it was plugged in.
All I can say is WOW! If you love wine tasting or just want to take a ride to see beauty you need to visit Speckle Rock Vineyards. You’ll be greeted with genuine smiles, relaxing areas to sit and the view is AMAZING! I hope you enjoy as much as we did!! 🍷
Great place. Staff was very nice and took time to explain their options. Seating areas were all
Nice and clean with heaters everywhere. Was a very nice and welcoming environment. We brought our own food and had a great time. Wine was also really good. I had a red blend. We will be back!

Such a beautiful location! This was my first time in Highland Valley wine country and I'll have to come back. I was meeting up with a friend who was visiting from out of town and we were looking for a nice, relaxing place with outdoor seating. Speckle Rock fits the bill. It's also one of the only places in the area open on a Thursday, which is how we ended up there.
Being a Thursday afternoon, the place was pretty empty, which I loved. A handsome and sweet dog greeted me as I walked into the tasting room. And as I walked in, I could see a peek of the view of San Pasqual Valley that is the backdrop for their outdoor seating. The gentleman pouring the wine told me that he recommends reservations for the weekends, but walk-ins still do okay. He talked me through some of their wines and made several recommendations for my tasting, all of which were fantastic. I did a tasting of 4 wines (Falalnghina, Rose, Pinot Nior, and Sangiovese Merlot) and every wine I tried was delicious. I ended up purchasing a bottle of the first wine I tried... it is a perfect wine for a summer day.
My friend also enjoyed the wines he tried. He went with two glasses (Petite Sirah and Talynlu). We enjoyed our wine in their beautiful outdoor seating area, which was very comfortable and had plenty of shade. They had some very limited snacks available and some merch. I'll definitely be back. Great location, great staff, great wine!
