It's not often I give a restaurant across-the-board a 5 star review, but Schneider's earned it with ease. The German-style food was freshly made, with essentially everything made from scratch. I told our server their cuisine was the best I've had outside of Germany, and I've been there a lot. They also have a wide selection of beers, including several German beers on tap. The beer garden was a pleasant setting on a nice night. I'm attaching a photo of my plate - beautiful jaegerschnitzel - before I dug in. This is truly a gem! Food- Best German food outside of Munich. Pretzels are a must have! Can't go wrong with any of their schnitzel options and the burger hits the spot! A great selection of German beers as well. Service- When you have staff like Anja and Mike behind the bar, great service is never in doubt! The owner, Bobby, makes sure you feel at home when he's in too. Atmosphere- Although McAllen is a large "city", it lacks spaces similar to Schneiders with an outdoor Beer Garden vibe. With live music on most nights and karaoke, you're bound to have a great time.
