This was the 3rd Texas BBQ place we tried being from out-of-state and in my opinion, BLEW AWAY the other two. The Buddy sandwich was absolutely fantastic! Spicy sauce was on point! Meat was succulent, staff was friendly, prices were fair! Edit: Loaded mashed potatoes put my Grandma’s to SHAME! I moved out of state from SM two years ago and whenever I’m craving amazing bbq, I always think of this place. Today is my best friend’s birthday (she deserves the best of the best) so I of course ordered her the JP for pick up. The employees were so kind over the phone and even wrote Happy Birthday on the bag for me. This was my friend’s first time having BBQ from here. After eating the JP she texted, “Life Changing. It was SO good. Best bbq in San Marcos great prices a ton of flavor and great sides. Puts blacks bbq to shame. I’ve had every kind of their meat/sides here and it’s always been good/great. Ordered sausage and brisket with two sides. Everything was good except brisket was very greasy. Not just one section, the whole meat was like chewing fat. Won't return. Pay $16 for greasy brisket not cool Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

Friendly service and Delicious food. Brisket and Chicken, Potato salad Green beans and pinto beans & Chop barbecue sandwich. I stopped in to place a order to go and when I got home I was really impressed of my plate and with all the sides that were packed in - including my Pickles onions and barbecue sauce, bread. I’m really pleased ,When you have an order to go everything is in there for you and nothing is left out. Great cooks!!! Thanks for outstanding service 👍

I understand why this was rated the best BBQ in San Marcos. Got the Rudy sampler and it all was very good! The brisket was done to perfection, the sausage and turkey were also very good. My only complaint was with the ribs, great flavor but they were very tough. Definitely a great stop!
