After a walk around Wisconsin State Capitol, many visitors stop by this restaurant. Vegetarian food is good here. Red is to be recommended for nicely cooked spicy rolls, sashimi and seaweed salads. In accordance with the visitors' opinions, martinis are good. This place is recommended for the hospitable staff. The fast service is something these restaurateurs care about. Pay average prices for eating at this spot. You will definitely like the exotic atmosphere.

This is the best sushi in Madison, hands down. Everything else just doesn't match in pure quality. You can taste all of the intricate tastes working together to make a masterpiece within your mouth. If I ever truly want to treat myself, this is where I come. All of their rolls are very creative and beautifully designed. Service is always perfect and the atmosphere is awesome. I had their surf and turf sliders recently and they were fantastic. Stop by if you are every feeling a little fancy with your sushi taste. This place has such a cool Cosmopolitan vibe! I was there with a group of 6. We were in the 6th Fl, which is much better for ‘dining’. The street-level is for smaller groups and is a bit noisier, more like a bar-restaurant scene. Our server, Maya, was so nice and friendly. She knew her way around the menu very well, and made suggestions I did not regret. The service initially may have seemed a bit slow, but I think it was from the bar preparing our drinks. My favorite drink was the Lychee Martini. It was very refreshing. It had a balance of subtle citrus flavors, hints of lemon & grapefruit, but none overpowering. The plates came out in a timely manner. I could go on for pages about each meal, safe to say they were all excellent—you really can’t go wrong. To stay my hunger, the waitress recommended the chicken tempura as an app. No strong flavors here, just subtle blends. The Miso soup was also very good. My favorite dishes were the Tsunami and Crispy Rice. The Tsunami just embodied what I wanted ‘sushi’ to taste like. Again, subtle blends of flavors and textures. The tempura added a nice crunch to it all. The Crispy Rice was just fun to eat. And don’t let that little jalapeño intimidate you. It wasn’t that hot. If I was feeling more tropical, the Tropic Thunder would have sufficed. My wife loved the scallops, but for the price, I think we should’ve gotten maybe more than 2 on a plate. Whatever criticism I have is greatly overshadowed by the quality and taste of the food complemented by the up-beat, modern, decor. It was such a pleasure to eat there. A great place to get together with friends and family. Yup….this place is a keeper! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Wish I had taken more photos! We ate here for my birthday and the experience was wonderful and memorable. We didn't have a reservation but they were still able to seat us. The restaurant it's self is beautifully decorated and designed so you feel extra special being there. The servers were very attentive and kind and made sure our needs were met at all times. The food was phenomenal! I have eaten here in the past and been impressed but in recent years I became vegan and was hesitant to revisit. I wished I hadn't waited to return because their vegan offerings were so delicious I am still thinking about them and can't wait to go back! Our favorite was the nutty vegan roll but we had 2-3 others that were just as good. There were some dishes and appetizers that were veganizable, we love when a restaurant can accommodate. Absolutely beautiful food to service. I feel like it is a place worthy of celebrating something big like a proposal, graduation or even a birthday. Sushi dishes are amazing and filling. For my dietary requirements I can’t have foods with alcohol in so they made me a separate rice for my sushi since they do add some wine in their normal rice 🍚 for sushi 🍣 Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $30–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Swanky and fresh! Eccentric take on some iconic rolls, but the menu still has the oldies like a Dragon, Godzilla, and Philly. VERY reasonably priced food and cocktails. Sit at the sushi bar and watch the maters work! I also loved that the first thing our waitress asked, is if there were any allergies she should be aware of for our safety. It was a nice empathetic touch. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $30–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Miso Soup

I forgot to take a picture of the salmon lover sushi I got but it was delicious and beautifully made. We thought the salads were more of a side dish but they were actually of a decent entree sized portion and full of flavor. Service was slower than I expected on the day we went. Best place in Madison. We sat outside on a beautiful night. Food came out at perfect pace, service was excellent. The volcano roll was amazing, and the fried mushroom from the kitchen is a must try. Will definitely be back next time we are in madison. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Absolutely hands down the best sushi restaurant in all of Madison. I could eat RED sushi for the rest of my life and be content. Never ever had a bad dish/drink/experience here. This place needs a Michelin star. Seriously. I love you RED. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $30–50

We’ve been to RED multiple times as our go-to special event spot. The first visit was phenomenal! However, the quality has declined a bit over time. Presentation and sushi is still fantastic, but the price point seems to be riding the reputation a bit and it doesn’t always feel worth the cost to indulge anymore. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $100+
Great food, great service. Wish I took a photo of the sushi, it was phenomenal. I had the dragon roll but the tropic roll was also a hit. Definitely would visit again when I come back!
