So, let me start by saying that I was so excited about this place after the reviews I read and seeing it on the Stanley Tucci Italy show. That may be the problem. If we had no expectations, it would have been a pretty good meal. The service was great. Atmosphere nice. The food was beautiful but overall just tasted fine. Not sure why, but apart from the salted grapefuit sorbet, the tasting menu lacked any distinct taste. My wife and I ate here last month on our trip around north Italy and it was probably in our top 3 meals and we ate at a few Michelin star restaurants. We both got the 5 course tasting menu with wine pairings. All the courses were perfectly prepared and very tasty. The wine pairings did a great job complimenting the courses. The classic Milanese saffron risotto and bone marrow was absolutely delicious though surprisingly the seasoned encrusted mushroom stole the show. It was amazing with the cheese sauce and lettuce. The "BBQ" chicken was the only course that was uninspiring, the chicken was dry but honestly the other courses and wine definitely made up for it. The service was also great and the waiter was very knowledgeable about the various wines that were served. If we are ever in Milan again we will be back. Very nice atmosphere with a limited amount of tables and lovely staff. The food is definitely showing quality but I could give it a 4 because it was not extraordinary as I expected. I found this place on a top 10 list of things to do in Milan. The list said this is a great place to try traditional Milanese dishes and I could not agree more. I had the tripe dish while my spouse had the saffron risotto with bone marrow. Both were excellent. The tripe dish is one of the best tripe I had. We also shared a stone mushroom appetizer which also tasted great. Thank you Ratana for the experience. The overall experience was very good and loved the vibes, however the food was a little bit too salty! We’ve ordered the Milanese meatballs and veal tongue pastrami focaccia as starters and those were delicious so highly recommended. For the main we had the pumpkin risotto and mountain trout. There’s lots of spices in the risotto, as well as “coffee”, this is an interesting ingredient being used in a main course, and we couldn’t finish this dish because it too salty. The trout was absolutely delicious and a love the baby onions too, so sweet and tender! We had the pannacotta as dessert and it’s so creamy and rich, goes so well with the sorbet.
