I ordered a rib dinner tonight and had doordash delivery, they forgot my fries . I know its only fries but it just makes me mad when I don't get what I paid for. I called Portillo's and they said call doordash, Doordash says call Portillo's. Smh! I will not use doordash anymore. But it was Portillo's that didn't put the fries in the bag unless doordasher ate my fries 😕 The ribs and cake were delicious! Portillos ain't what it used to be. The beef is just ok. And just like everywhere else it's crazy expensive to eat here. The chopped salad is legit still. The service is not as cordial as it used to be. Employees used to joke and laugh, now they barely even make eye contact. I hate to only rate it 3 stars but this location is severely lacking a pep in their step. All the kids that work there are either too busy day dreaming or just dont give a rats about getting the food out fast. Idk maybe it's just this generation. The location on 59 in Naperville is better managed and definitely quicker with the orders.. This review is strictly service related. The food is always good.

Placed an order in drive thru. The order was repeated 4 times. Got to the pick-up window, which they had me then pull ahead to the stop sign. The order was still wrong, waited another 10min, they brought it out, the order was still messed up. It was 2 italian beef,2 fries, and 1 hot dog. Growing up in Chicago on the north side, in the 70s and 80s, I experienced the Chicago-style hot dog many times. It's hard to find now a days. This Portillos hot dog reminded me of that time. Most places pile lots topping, which is just mush. The Portillos near my home does this. Many times the buns are toasted, or dried out. Not steamed. Here the bun didn't seem toasted. Hats off. Unfortunately, the fries were just that,mush, soft and mushy. Had plenty of seating there. This review is for their hot dog only. I would definitely recommend you try this Portillos. My fiance and I traveled to drop off our student at NIU and decided to grab a quick bite. We love Portillo's but had never been to one with a mini gift shop!! The restaurant was very clean, and the staff was friendly. We'll definitely make sure to stop by again.
