This tiny small store in Newton Centre serves up several variations of what is now my favorite dessert - mochi donuts. As I was never a big fan of (overly) sweet delights, I've never bothered to try them despite hearing about it until recently at an event. I was truly surprised as I didn't just take a bite BUT finished the whole thing in less than a minute (once again, a pretty big feat for someone who doesn't prefer sweet treats). It wasn't overly sweet like normal donuts and the texture is far more delightful and chewy as much as it was moist. The flavors were potent and quite addicting. I know I will now be visiting quite a bit as the price is also really decent for what you get. Wishing you the best for the rest of the year and an even better 2024! Cheers! We've only tried 3 different places for mochi donuts, but Pon de Joy is our favorite so far. Always fresh, taste great, variety of flavors, both dough and frosting are very delicious. We've tried 12 different flavors and loved them all! The only thing we should say is almond flavor was ok for us. Nothing wrong with it, but it tasted more like an almond essence vs like a real almond or almond butter (a bit bitter and I would say like a fake almond syrup idk if I described it good enough). Again, I think it's just a taste preference and nothing was wrong with almond donut frosting. But thought I would mention it in case someone would find it helpful.

I feel very sad 😞 this store is very small and only have very few choices. No boba ice slushy at all. Don’t come to this store try the other location.

So glad Pon de Joy is expanding, as I’ve been a fan of their original location for a while now! I’ve tried so many other shops and none so far can beat this place. The donuts are always fresh, soft, and tasty, and keep overnight really well. Loved the taro boba here as well, the pearls tasted super fresh and chewy. I also like that there’s free hot coffee available.

I’m addicted to the matcha latte with boba. (Best boba in Newton—and I’ve tasted them all!) Donuts are amazing, too. And the staff are super friendly.

Went to their meet and greet 2 weeks ago . They were giving samples of what is yet to come the samples were wonderful also the 2 people were warm friendly looking forward to being a regular with my family .
