We went to the restaurant only. The menu whets your appetite. The location and the service are excellent .the restaurant was packed. The food though is somewhat average and we were both fighting with an overcooked piece of lamb that was fibrous and hard to eat. Nonetheless we had a good time there as food is only part of the equation.

Oortjeshekken (roughly translated as Farthinggates) reminds me very much of restaurant ' The Green Man' in Grantchester, not far from Cambridge. Same atmosphere, same age, same interior, and most of all, same location, situated in the Ooijpolder, equivalent of Grantchester Meadows.

We had been there many years , it was very good but I had been last time a year ago I ate soup it wasn' t smell nice and I got sick. Today I order a salade it was really rotten I paid 11€ for rotten salade lieves. It is a very nice building and enviroment but...

This is a small, historic hotel located in a quiet rural area. It is very popular with local residents who come for the food and drink.||||Rooms are comfortable with good beds. There is an excellent kitchen and a very nice outdoor seating area.||||Wi-Fi is very slow and unreliable. Otherwise it is very nice.

We stayed here for our anniversary and we really enjoyed it. When we arrived, the staff were extremely welcoming and showed us to our room. The room was adorable and very clean. The bed was very comfortable and the floor was heated. It's a bit of an older room so there weren't many outlets, and no TV, but if you're looking for a get away in the beautiful countryside, the TV won't be missed. The bathroom is minimal but was clean and had all we needed. I even forgot a hair dryer but we able to borrow one from the front desk. The breakfast was delicious and we were able to take a walk around the water right across the street, saw plenty of wildlife. All in all we really enjoyed our stay, although at least a two night stay would make it easier to take full advantage of everything offered.

We arrived tired and ready to rest. What a delightful place. We were quickly shown our very comfortable room. As we were thirsty we headed to the restaurant for some much needed coffee, which had a great vibe. Our room was at the back so it was quiet but the WiFi signal was weak but in the restaurant it is good. As we are part of a booked cycling tour we would normally expect a set menu for dinner, but we were pleased to be able to choose anything we liked. The food was delicious and promptly served even though the restaurant was busy with big tables. The bed was comfortable and we had a good night's sleep. Breakfast was a big plate of a variety of fruits, bread, egg, cheese, ham and jam. We left feeling refreshed and ready for another long day of riding.
