A great pizza in a welcoming spot. There's something for everyone at Olive's Pizza. In addition to the phenomenal pizza, they have a full bar with cocktails, wine, and beer. We love that we are able to get a regular pizza that they will make with 1/2 & 1/2 of your two favorite menu selections. Their pizza menu selections are top notch with non-standard selections that are not too out of the ordinary. They have delicious flavor combinations without making impossible food combinations. A nice bubbly thin crust with tasty toppings and great service. We've never had a bad time at Olive's. 1st time visit on a busy event weekend. Service from Jake was excellent. Enjoyed the 2 pizzas I tried, a bit salty but great flavor combinations. Decor is pretty bland and it was fairly loud. This is the second time I've been to Olives. Its a really nice pizza restaurant in downtown Excelsior. The first time we went was with about 11 people. We all loved our pizza and had a great time. This time I went with my wife after a nice boat ride on Lake Minnetonka. Our pizza this time was a bit blan and seemed undercooked. Not really undercooked but I like my pizza with the cheese melted to the point where it has some brown on it. I'll be happy to try them again as I know the pizza is better than what we had. The atmosphere is wonderful and make sure you get a reservation before you go so you get a table. We went late Sept and we knew the summer rush was over so we didn't have a reservation and the wait was only 20 minutes. So you have an option if its not a busy day in Excelsior. It was good and the service was excellent. I really loved all the healthy options and the wine list. It isn't your typical pizza place though. These are more flatbread types of pizza. We had the italian fries, the veggie with cauliflower crust and my husband had the meat lovers. The crust was really light, airy and delicious. But we're all about the sauce and the pizzas definitely needed more sauce or something? Very nice little spot for date night. We'll definitely be back to try some other items on the menu. This place was recommended by family. The pizza is phenomenal and service is outstanding! Wait staff was very attentive and courteous. Recommend trying the Hot Toddy, Caprese, and the Fongo pizzas. Wasn't anything spectacular or worth going back for. I was a bit surprised at how highly the restaurant was rated as the pizza looked better than it tasted. Honestly, it was fine. I'm not complaining but for the price and location I expected a bit more. Pizza Lucé and Pizzaria Lola is a bit better in my opinion. The wine was decent but again, not great. The wine glasses were way too thick and it seemed to mute the flavors of the wine. There's room for improvement in the wine list, glasses, atmosphere and ingredients. Second review- pictures are from 1st review Ordered online - two personal pizzas, neither were cooked thoroughly. On one the cheese was barely melted, cold mozzarella topped the pizza. The Buffalo pizza had very little Buffalo sauce and cheese, with an overwhelming amount of big chunks of celery. The Buffalo pizza had very little flavor other than celery. When we went in to pick up our order we were not asked if we wanted napkins, peppers or cheese. I had to ask. Also, as I am creating my online order I wondered why I was prompted to leave a tip? I am going online and creating my order then getting in my car, driving, getting out of my car and walking in to pick up my order. Olives doesn’t deliver, so that can’t be a reason to tip. Why would I tip? For doing your job? Prior review - 4 Stars - Ordered the personal Buffalo Chicken and Hawaiian pizzas. Extra thin, cracker crust, baked perfectly in a pizza oven. The Buffalo Chicken Pizza had super good flavors Buffalo sauce, diced chicken, crunchy celery, arugula and blue cheese dressing topped a wonderful crust. The Hawaiian pizza included thin sliced prosciutto, pineapple, arugula, and other toppings with a drizzle of balsamic glaze and macadamia nuts pieces. Good pizza, although the moisture in the pineapple made the middle of the pizza soggy. NICE selection of craft tap beer. This is a restaurant we will visit again snd again. Food: 2 Service: 2
