Came in and the lady taking our order was extremely unfriendly right off the bat. Coffees came out quick and I were great but the food (burrito and waffle) took 30 min to come out…? After asking what the ETA was for the food the guy working was kind and offered a punch card and apologized about the wait but the lady was again just rude. For context it wasn’t busy in there.

We had our eyes set on coffee this morning and did not expect to come to this place. This is our first visit to Arcata, and we had just finished walking the campus when we ran into Michael, who works at Northtown Coffee.
I appreciated his honest response when I asked about the "best cup of coffee in town." His reply - "your kitchen!" :)
What invited me in, though, was the dog friendly atmosphere as Billy comes with me just about everywhere.
Charlie made Billy his puppuccino and served me a cup of light roast coffee with some heavy cream (how I like it).
I think next time I'd ask for a blend of the dark and light roast as the light roast isn't quite enough flavor for me, alas, it is still good.
Billy was stoked on the morning treat.
The stickers and little gifty items were cool.

I used to work at northtown for about two years. And I can tell you there is something very magical about this place. I have met a lot of really cool and amazing people here and made life long friends. It has this essence and energy to it that makes you feel welcome. Not only as an employee but as a customer. I have had a bunch of family and friends come up here and visit me and they have always come here to support it. Because of the unique and beautiful drinks and the unique and beautiful people. It’s a place where you can study, hangout, people watch, or all of the above. Give it a try. Don’t be obnoxious about the prices. It’s all organic and it’s located in rural area. Expect places around here to be a little more on the costly side. Doesn’t make it any less good, you’re just helping support the business and the community.
