We had an outstanding experience from the beginning to end. We were going to another restaurant in town, however, with an hour wait, my brother suggested we call North Country and we got right in. Our server Tristan was great, friendly, attentive and efficient. The Cajun Walleye was outstanding as were the other dishes. We will return. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Stopped on before a movie and sat at the bar with Forest. He was wonderful and suggested the white chicken chili. He was not wrong. Yummy!! Then we had the rib-eye. Cooked to perfection. Will definitely return. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

Enjoyable atmosphere, very nice selection of food - Shrimp & Grits and as terrific, Cobb salad was really fresh and tasty! Good wine and beer selection rounded the experience out quite well. Wonderful friendly staff - will add this to our regular stops. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Shrimp and Grits

Lovely outside seating. Nice menu options. There is a cajun flare in several menu items as well. I had the filet and my husband had the gumbo both very good. Service was ok. This was a good experience just not enough to make it 5 stars. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

First time visiting Suttons Bay, came here for dinner and was a little nervous based on the previous reviews, but we had a great dinner! Cajun pasta with chicken and shrimp and grits were outstanding, they even had local cider on tap (Tandem-Strawberry Jam). Cute and comfortable outdoor seating. The only negative I could mention would be that it took as bit longer than we would like to get our entrees, however our server was very attentive and kept updating us. Sometimes real food takes a little longer to prepare, and this was clearly fresh made. Would absolutely return!
This new twist on the menu is spectacular. Some of the classic favorites but with a little bit of extra Southern flare added in to some of the dishes. Fried green tomatoes? Yes please. The jambalaya and gumbo and shrimp and grits are amazing. You can tell a lot of care goes into this and that everything is made from scratch and not frozen out of a bag. I think my son wants to live off of the chicken sandwich. If you are in and there is crab bisque available do yourself a favor and take one to go too! Also service is very friendly and attentive. North Country is back! It's under new ownership, and the menu has changed a bit. They have retained many of the favorites like prime rib, steaks, and whitefish. However, they have made a number of seriously delicious additions. We visited last night for the soft opening. If you are looking for something a little bit different, you need to give this a try. We started our meal with Fried Green tomatoes. They weren't like any fried green tomato I have ever tasted. The tomato was flavorful and still a bit crunchy. Whatever they were coated in was flavorful but light and a bit flaky. The appetizer was served with a delicious aioli that had just a hint of heat to complement the tomatoes. I had my first ever gumbo, and I am officially hooked. It's served with a cornbread that is definitely not on my diet but delicious none the less. (I scarfed down every crumb.) Greg enjoyed a perfectly prepared prime rib accompanied by fingerling potatoes, which I think were roasted and grilled seared asparagus. I believe they will officially open on Thursday or Friday this week. Get in there! Give it a try.. You won't be disappointed. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
I'd go again just for the kindness and presence of the staff, Kelly in particular. Nice mules there, happy I could taste all the ingredients. Good cod plate, tender fish and well seasoned. Get the French fries, they're fresh and delicious. Skip the green beans, get the slaw. Recommend giving it a go. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $10–20
Seems I'm giving out 4 stars quite often here in Sutton's Bay but you gotta do what you gotta do! Stopped in here for a later dinner, 7pm, on Thursday night. Honestly the town is pretty quiet right now but hopefully as the summer comes around and restrictions are eased it will pick up. But for us it's been nice and quiet 😏 Sat in the outdoor dining area because it was a beautiful night. We had a short wait so we ordered a drink at the bar. I got the white wine sangria. It was light, refreshing and perfect for this evening. It was only a few minutes before our table was ready and they asked us to pay our bar tab before moving to the table, I thought they could have added it to our dinner tab since we ordered drinks at the table, but oh well. Once seated we ordered the lobster and crab cake appetizer. This was delicious and I could have had that for dinner (they do have a dinner option of this!). It came with a light cream sauce which was perfect with it. Kelsey, our server, was polite and eager to answer our questions. She didn't rush us to place our dinner choice and we appreciated that. When we were ready we placed our dinner order... Shrimp, fried with cocktail sauce and green beans and a cesar salad. We also ordered the appetizer of fried asparagus and glad we did! This also came with the same light cream sauce, yummy! The shrimp was fried to a delicious crunch and enough for us to share. For the drinks, appetizers and entree we got out of there for just over $75 (without tip of tax). Parking was pretty easy because like I said the town was fairly quiet. We didn't get dessert because they only had cherry pie and chocolate ganache and I wasn't in the mood for either. Next time we're in the area this will be someplace I'd definitely go again and you should check it out as well. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30

Food and drink are both fantastic. The atmosphere was the best. I haven’t eaten fresh fish for a while and the white fish there brought me back to the time when I could eat fresh seafood easily. Waiter was a nice dude and the place felt great and relax after a 6 hours drive.
