BLUF: Atmosphere is great, service is slow, food is decent, but I expected more. -there are a lot of cool decorations and it’s definitely not a “canned” decor. -Service was slow and I think the waitress forgot about us🤦‍♂️ -Blooming Onion appetizer was served cold -I had the Hawaiian Pizza and I enjoyed it. -kids had the parmesan chicken sandwich and it was dry. -they did have good beers on tap Nice looking restaurant with tons of atmosphere and lots of food options, but the food quality and service will prevent us from going out of our way to come back. Restaurant cleanliness: ok, not super clean, Bathrooms: not the cleanest, decor was almost nice, kinda like they stopped half way through a bathroom upgrade. We had dinner tonight at Nicks pizza in Elgin. Pizza, apps, and desserts were all good. However, when the bill arrived they gave us 3 versions of receipts. 1) receipt showing total for everything we ordered plus tax, 2) receipt should everything we ordered plus mandatory 20% tip, 3) receipt showing items 1 and 2 plus a convenience fee of over $7.00. I don’t have an issue with the 20% tip as we usually tip that amount for good service anyway. I’m just glad the service wasn’t sub par. However, a convenience fee? For what? When I questioned it I was told they are now charging all customers a fee for using a credit card. Clearly the management here has figured out a way to screw customers out of just a little more. Credit card fees have always been absorbed into the prices of the food and I’m sure they are here also plus now an added fee. Because of this I won’t be back. Great atmosphere but.... After waiting a long time at my booth, I was finally able to place my order. Pizza arrived and I bit into undercooked, pink sausage...hope i don't get sick. Then I had to track down a waiter. Currently waiting for a replacement pizza, but was never offered even a price reduction for the issue or given a drink refill. Interestingly enough, i was just informed by the wait staff that i should order my pizza "well done" next time if I wanted to make sure the sausage was cooked. Seriously? The implication was that if i had done this, the pizza would've been cooked throughly. Seriously?The Health Department should check on this one for sure. Stopped in with our football team after a game and we were not disappointed. We had 16 in our group (unplanned so no reservation) they were great about getting us all together. Waitress were super kind and helpful as many of us had not been there before. We ordered several pizzas. The one I had was a Bruschetta pizza and I have to say it was the best pizza I've had in a long time. Thin crust was nice and crunchy the flavors were just amazing. Such a cool spot! Fun atmosphere, food is great! Double top pizza is amazing! Our server was great, he was even watching to make sure his runner was doing her job right.
