Mesquite BBQ Since 1959 Review
Mesquite BBQ Since 1959 is a family-owned and operated barbecue restaurant in Mesquite, Texas. They have been serving up classic Texas barbecue for over 60 years, and they are known for their moist brisket, smoky ribs, and delicious sides.
I recently had the opportunity to try Mesquite BBQ for the first time, and I was overall impressed. I ordered the brisket, ribs, sausage, coleslaw, chorizo beans, and a mesquite roll.
The brisket was moist and flavorful, but it was a little overcooked and falling apart. I still enjoyed it, but I would have preferred it to be a little more tender. The ribs were also good, but they were a little overcooked as well. The meat was still juicy, but it was a little too easy to pull off the bone.
The sausage was fine, but it wasn't my favorite. It was a little bit too dry for my taste. The coleslaw was good, but it needed something, maybe salt or a little bit of vinegar. The chorizo beans were great, though. They were flavorful and hearty.
I also really enjoyed the mesquite roll. It was a jalapeño stuffed with cream cheese and herbs, wrapped in bacon. It was the perfect combination of spicy, creamy, and smoky.
Overall, I had a good experience at Mesquite BBQ. The food was good, but it wasn't the best barbecue I've ever had. The prices were reasonable, and the service was friendly. I would definitely come back and give it another chance to impress me.
Here are some specific things I liked about Mesquite BBQ:
The brisket was moist and flavorful, even though it was a little overcooked.
The mesquite roll was delicious. It was a unique and flavorful appetizer.
The chorizo beans were great. They were flavorful and hearty.
The service was friendly.
Here are some things I think Mesquite BBQ could improve on:
Don't overcook the brisket and ribs.
Add more salt or vinegar to the coleslaw.
Offer more variety of sausage.
Overall, I would give Mesquite BBQ a 3.5 out of 5 stars. It's a good barbecue restaurant, but it's not the best I've ever had. I would definitely come back and give it another chance, though

I've had better BBQ. The food is real greasy and unflavored. The prices are high and portions are small. Their ribs are tough brisket was fatty and their sides were cold (green beans and mashed potatoes). I'll make the 30 minute extra drive for a smokey bbq lathered in sauce so my hands and beard can enjoy the sticky delight. They may have been in business for a long time but don't skimp on the ingredients or quality.

We were in the area and wanted some bbq. We googled bbq restaurants in the area....Man!!!!! When I tell you this was the best bbq we've ever tasted since we've been in the DFW for 18 years?!?!?! The sides were bomb, the meats melts in your mouth, and above all the friendly service and very very clean establishment won us over!!! Can't wait to come back with our family!!!

Possibly the best BBQ I've had yet! I've tried many different BBQ places in many different states while traveling, but Mesquite BBQ is one of those places that exceeds family expectations!
Food (BBQ sandwich, bacon green beans and okra is obviously five stars.
Service is more than phenomenal, and fast for cutting the meat and preparing food in front of you as you go, so give stars.
The atmosphere speaks for itself and I give it five stars, especially if you start checking out the decorations and everything!
From my aunts funeral to a family dinner, this place brightened up our day! I will certainly be back again one day!

Stopped for lunch at the historic, downtown Mesquite BBQ. Pictured is the lunch plate...chopped brisket sandwich. Plates come with two sides...I chose okra and green beans. Everything was very good. Brisket was tender and tasty. Comes with small cups of sauce. Meat is chopped/cut right in front of you. Busy spot for lunch, started clearing out at 1:00. Several desserts to choose from but I was stuffed from the lunch plate!

Very solid BBQ. In my opinion, the ribs wee my favorite. They had a punch of mesquite and salt the really brought out the flavors. Sides were all good as well. I ordered the three meat plate and probably had enough food for two whole meals. I recommend going of you are in the area.

First time in this area . Stopped in this place and got a family meal for over a 100$ and spent almost 200$ in total.
I almost walked away from the register and not even pay for the food and go somewhere else due to the rudeness of what looked to be the owner. HOWEVER ...THIS WAS THE WORST BAR-B-QUE I HAVE EVER HAD ! EVEN THE SIDES. The Mac and cheese taste like salt and the coleslaw was just shredded cabbage. 7 out of 7 people eating this said it was horrible. STAY AWAY !! WORST EVER . The brisket was tender but taste just like smoke and the other meats taste like ?????
