Very nice atmosphere with attentive service. We tried the 5 course dinner with wine pairing. Portions, timing and information were excellent. Absolutely wonderful autumnal fare. The place is beautiful (we haven’t been there in a long while) and better than we remember. Service was impeccable and our waitress was personable and lovely. The food was not only delicious but warm and cozy and satisfying. Whoever is in charge of this restaurant has weaved love, an excellent eye for detail and exquisite palate and found all who touch Mat & Destillat’s menu to share this love for a truly fantastic meal. I almost never give a 5-star rating, but this place almost deserves it. The food was absolutely amazing. The interior is not great, a bit crowded and noisy, although we could have a conversation during dinner. The staff was quite nice except for the finish, when they made us leave our table. I understand that a new reservation was coming in but this would be an important thing to fine tune, so people don't leave with a "bad taste". Still, highly recommend the place. A must-try restaurant in Lund. Smoked salmon was very fresh. Lamb was very fine. Fish was superb with topping soup. About dessert, creme-brulee was soft, well sweet and good texture. Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person kr 500–600 Recommended dishes Creme Brulee

It’s been a while to have dinner outside at Friday then this place is certainly still the best restaurant in town! I love the Sandy Bulldog cocktail with strong coffee gin taste but very soft. The best starter is the Roding, super nice with the white broccoli. The pig meat is also nice. The beef tartare is bit too salty for me and the ravioli is tasteless so not so like them. We had business dinner with a group. I ordered three course meal. Chantarelle soup is my favorite. I found the portions a bit weaker. Presentation was nice. Bread and butter has been given in the beginning. Passion and citron coctail is really fresh and prepared well. Service is a little bit slow. Expectations were through the roof, but somehow got stuck on the ceiling. Monkfish starter was a tad on the dry side, and while the main dish cod was cooked to perfection the acidity of the sauce was a bit overwhelming. Happy to give them a second chance as the dishes in general look good at face value.

Review is a bit late, but better late than never. We were incredibly pleased with our visit, so I thought I'd share. My girlfriend and I went here with our friend for his 30th birthday in late August. We brought our 6-month old son too. I emailed in advance to let them know that we'd bring a baby, and also to let them know some dietary requirements that I have - they for whatever reason didn't get the email, but our waiter was super accommodating even if he had to solve some stuff on the spot. He also went a bit out of his way to provide some entertainment for our son. Kudos to that guy! The food was also definitely great. We went for the tasting menu, because it looked interesting and we wanted to do something slightly fancier. I had been here a few years prior and hadn't thought the food was quite good value, but in spite of the bill coming in at 1000 SEK per person (including some wine, beer, and a cocktail), I couldn't help but feel completely satisfied and content this time around. They had really stepped up their game compared to my previous visit, and are now up there with the restaurant at Skissernas, which was my favorite place in Lund since before. I often have at least some criticism of the food when I go out, especially at this price point, but this time I could not really find anything to critique. Well balanced, interesting, delicious dishes of a good size - I was definitely not hungry after leaving (in spite of not filling up on bread) but also not too full. The cocktail was also (as usual) creative and tasty. Definitely recommended, and thanks to the team at Mat & Destillat! Service Dine in Meal type Dinner

What a good dinner! Good bread - both kinds. Not some store dry bread! Good butter! Amazing presentation and taste of food. Nice wine selection and bartender chose a really nice wine for me. Good cappuccino to end the dinner. It was a dinner that leaves you happy after on!
