My friend, a local, recommended Magpie for lunch. He touted the salads, but I chose the New York steak sandwich. I accompanied it with a Stella Artois draft which came ice cold and was more than wonderful. The steak sandwich was the steak and onion rings between sourdough slices. I had forgotten how delicious a steak can be; this one might have been my first in decades. I chose potato salad as my side - it was just right. The service was great, we left a generous and well-earned tip. Prices are, by today's standards, low considering the quality, tastiness and location.
