After one visit, I would definitely return. And I recommend that anyone thinking about Lincoln should give it a try. We, however, were pretty disappointed with the pizza. We had the Margherita pizza and the crust was soggy and the flavors almost entirely absent. Marg flavors are subtle, so we added sausage. The tomato really needs something .. prob a little garlic will help. A dash of sea salt will bring out the mozzarella and it needs 3x basil. The sausage was the biggest disappointment. In this day of craft butchers and custom blends there is no excuse for the straight up browned pork sausage with not even a hint of flavor that we were served. There are pizza places I go to because their in-house blended sausage is addictingly delicious. The menu looked interesting and I hope for the sake of the people of Mt. Vernon that the other unique pies have more flavor (nowhere to go but up, really). And how can the bottom crust be so soggy? The oven is a work of art, but something about the process needs to change... or customers should plan on using a knife and fork because if you try to pick up a slice with your hands, the toppings will soon hit the table. Maybe this review seems harsh, but the staff were lovely and the atmosphere was great. There was just a huge let down when we tried the food. But like someone else said... a group of friends and a few bottles of wine will make for a fine night at the Licoln. I hope the owner or chef see this and just up their flavor game a bit! Thanks for reading.

The pizzas here are stellar. The crust is crisp and thin and unlike most pizzas out there, the cheese is actually used in moderation and it allows for the taste of the toppings to shine through. It is nice to have pizza with fresh herbs and tasty topping options instead of the usual various types of meat.
The menu is small but all the 4 pizzas + 2 apps (meatballs + bread sticks) I tried were excellent. I would say these were among the best, if not the best, pizzas I've had in Iowa. Highly recommend.

I've been here numerous times over the years and although they've recently remodeled it doesn't seem to have changed much over the years. They have authentic wood fired pizza and wine. The pizza is always good but I do wish they had a little more variety and they are on the more expensive end especially since I can eat an entire pizza by myself. I always wish wine was offered by the glass (that you could sample first) as I'm not a big drinker and would not only never want a bottle but would need to try a wine first to see if I even like it. I ordered my pizza with light smoked mozzarella since they don't have dairy free options. So normally the pizza would have more cheese, fyi.
