First time here and it's definitely a little bit off the main road and hidden pretty well actually but... Don't sleep on this place! This is the best chicken fried steak that I've found in a minute, so tender i can cut it with a fork. The potatoes are fresh and have chunks of skin in them and the breaded okra is absolutely next level. Even the green beans are fresh and crisp. Make the drive! Amazing food! And the service was just as good as the food. I can't wait to go back and try the catfish and I also heard their burgers are fantastic as well. If you want homestyle southern cooking this is the place to stop. The restaurant is nestled secretly away from the Boerne’s Main Street. Chicken fried steak is super crispy and meat is tender reminds me of my grandmother’s scratch kitchen recipes. The okra, mashed potatoes, green beans and all the extra fixings are delicious. The bran muffin is sweet and savory. All plates are generously served. If you’re not that hungry order the small plate. You will definitely not be disappointed. There are three sizes to most meals that include large, regular and pony. On recommendation from the lady taking orders (counter order) we decided to split a regular order of chicken fried steak. It comes with 3 sides and we chose mashed potatoes, fried okra and pinto beans. The pictures of the 2 plates show the amount of the one meal divided. A lot of food. The chicken fried steak was tender and crispy. The mashed potatoes were seasoned really well. The okra was crispy and fresh. Very good. The pinto beans were made in house and, once again, well delicious. Overall, the staff was friendly and the food was good.
