Was looking for some good Cali bbq, found this and I do have to say that the bbq itself definitely lives up to the hype. Not the best I’ve ever had but the best I’ve had in Cali! I had the brisket and Mac n cheese. First the star; the brisket. The meat was super tender and juicy, moist with the perfect amount of fat and char. Taste was very good and overall it was just a great example of bbq, not just for the west coast but in general. I’d give the brisket a 4.7/5 star rating! The Mac n cheese, well it was a disappointment. Not sure if it’s always like this but the noodles were to soft almost to the point of being soggy, the cheese sauce was nice and thick but something was just off about it. Flavor was okay but nothing to write home about. It seemed like this was not freshly made and I was really disappointed in the Mac. My rating would be a 1.5/5 stars for this. Overall not sure if I just got an older batch of Mac or what, but the bbq itself is what redeemed them and I would go again just for that.
